Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

where abouts in leeds you live? i think i seen your punto around ...looks good

I live in Wakefield & Huddersfield at the moment, but spend a lot of time at Kippax, just associate with Leeds as more people know the area and its where i am originally from. I also drive up and down Leeds Rd driving people to and from where i work

if you see a Punto with KNN in the reg flash your lights (y)

Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

Ive got friends living down near the Lesuire centre and i go to ASK quite often (which is behind Co-Op). but i sometimes head out towards Castleford instead of towards Leeds.

so you might see me there. but haven't been to Colton retail park, so that wont have been me.

You putting side skirts on it? :)

Dunno yet. wouldn't mind Abarth side skirts but its a case of money, time and if i can be bothered.

Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

the car is currently in the garage... (n)

driving from University to the local Motor Factors (Auto Spares Kippax(y)) when the exhaust decided to fall off.

took it home and found that the mid section (cat to flexi) was hanging off the Cat. called up KiwkFit and the qouted £400!!! they "claim" that the Cat and Mid section was all one piece on a punto... dispite the fact i was holiding onto the joint piece at that moment in time.

Local garage are doing it for £40 :D

Anyway new things are going on the car soon (tomorrow or wednesday)

Day Running Lights
Rear windows tinted

plus anything that i see and want :p

New parts fitted;

3mm rear spacers, didnt want to go too wide so chose 3mm =)

sun strip for front windscreen.

was going to get LED running lights, but the ones i wanted turned out to be £50 so decided not too get them, but did full lighting upgrade to Halogen, maximum legal Watt

Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

can you see any difference with the spacers i wanna get some but dont want ones too big any pics ?

Yes, but its very subtle. which is what i was going for.

obviously the bigger the spacer the more obvious it is.

the down side is that the bigger they are the bigger the bolts you need to replace the standard ones.

i will get photos up tomorrow when its light. by the time i had got stuff done today it was cold and dark. and snowing again, already under 4 inch.

Took the car drifting the other night as well, my god a punto can do it well, can hold a slide quite well with throttle feathering. (not telling people to go out and try it though)

Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

lol puntos do drift think thats the reason for the city button well handy for quick turns of the wheel

Didnt use City mode, just the standard power steering, will try it next time though (y)

it just seems that you can flick the back end out using hard turn in or hand brake, just natural slips and holds well

just need to keep feathering the throttle at the right pace to hold it.

Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

Managed to get some stuff done on the car today after i managed to dig it out.

New Xenon bulbs have been fitted and fully alligned, my god they are bright (y), have only fitted the dipped beam, getting around to doing the full beam tommorrow or saturday

finished smooth siding, had the strips off for about a week, but havent been able to get rid of all the gunk.

also re-style striped the sides as i messed one of them up.. and also took before and after photos with the spacers

will admit the spacers are that obvious, have to be told to notice really, but i was going for subtle. :p

Ive been at my parents for the past few days as university has been closed, and its only about 6 inch.

so took the chance to get stuff done on the car and university work. plus built the compulsary snow man (y)

But ive had a phone call from my flat mates down in Huddersfield and they have about 1 and half foot of snow around the apartment and are running out of food. im apparently going to have to do the next food run by the sounds of it or they might turn to cannibalism (my cars the only free one =P).

PS>

DAY RUNNING LIGHTS TOMORROW (y)
Also SUN STRIP (not that i need it in this weather )

Re: (NEW) Kenny the 1.2 Punto

nice lights :D whats that white thing on the windscreen ?

if you dont mind me asking how much was your spacers ?

If you mean the thing in the top right side (drivers). its a "Camera Holder". it was originally a dashboard phone holder with adheseve. but ive put it in the window for my camera. Just press and leave. the SD card in it allows for 6hours of mid quality recording or 2hours of HD 720p recording

it did a good job when i went to scotland. Plenty of good roads up there (y) when it went for its MOT the guy just laughed and said hope i got some good video.

The spacers were about £14 from A.S.K. they were annoying to fit as the drum bolts get in the way and wont align with the wheel bolts. but a bit of fiddling gets you there =)

Picking up my new alloys tomorrow.

They are a FIAT brand (to keep insurance down) and originally fitted to the 500. dont know what version of the 500 but seen a few about.

They are 16" and should look good on the punto! (y)

500_alloys_copy1.jpg

(y)

A.S.K kippax opposite co-op carpark;) i been there mate haha up around there most sundays love blasting up that pitch dark road from colton to kippax:) and theres that big fields there cant remember what its called with that big pipe in middle that goes through the tunnel lol

loving the alloys they going to fit though? they look well nice :D how much for them mate?

and yeh spacers are well fiddly i found if you put copper grease slight layer between hub and spacer it keeps it in place log enough for you to align the bolts mate(y)
