Re: white wheels

Cheers for all your feedback.

I only changed the suspension today so it has not settled yet. I hope i hasnt anyway LOL.
I want to colour code the bumpers but my dad (who was a car painter)
strongly advised me not to becouse the bumpers are made out off a different plastic and the paint wont adere properly. So i am on the look out for some sporting/sx bumpers first.

Cheers Tim

You can paint the bumpers, My arl fella owns a body shop, as long as you use the right prima's and stuff it will paint just fine no problems.

I like the wheels though will look even better when the suspension settles, nice work.

sorry to say but your dad is totaly wrong as a cinq sporting bumper is the exact same item as cinq s bumper with the exception of having tiny holes drilled in it for the coloured strips to be fixed with, fact

lower your car a bit more and colour code the bumpers and it will look sweet was thinking of coating my wheels white but still not sure because of how dirty they will get

Technically incorrect.

The non body coloured bumpers are covered in a mould-resistant coating. Hence it needs lots of keying down and pre-painting preparation to get it off, cos the paint doesnt stick to it.

Ive had a few bodyshops throw that one at me, and I found out for myself when I painted the bumpers on my 899cc!!

Re: white wheels

Bumpers need wiping down with celulose thinners and then key the surface as you usualy would, i know because my new rear bumper is based on a cinq s bumper and ive known of a bodyshop to use a standard cinq bumper to repair a sporting and they will not spend time to rub a bumper down as anyone whos been near a bodyshop will know time is the major factor with any repair job and then money.
