Grande Punto DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet.

Introduction

Hi all,

After reading these forums for a while and posting the odd silly question here and there, I'm proud to say I finally own a T-Jet :D:D

Standard for now but I do have plans for it:

Looks

  • Tinted tail lights
  • Tinted/Abarth headlights
  • Black Mirrors
  • Black Alloys
Handling

  • Coilovers (Either JOM or FK AK)

Performance

  • Forge Induction
  • Forge Intercooler
  • Abarth Turbo
  • Some sort of custom exhaust

I'm open to suggestions though, if any of you have any ideas on what else/different to do to my car then feel free to let me know :)

Thanks for looking!
Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Really nice car, I own a 1.4 petrol sporting in the same colour, is your car lowered 35mm????

Also what is the difference in ride quality since fitting the springs......

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Strip time is alright :) Your being a bit optimistic on your 0-60 time though with that 1/4 mile time.

If you use this to match your 1/4 time its accurate on 0-60. If that works properly then it should show the figures ive used. I believe that you would sneak into high 6's but 6.2 is wayyyyy too quick for the power you are running.

According to the site that sell the Eibach Sportlines, it's a 40-45mm drop on the front and a 30mm drop on the rear.

The ride comfort is worse of course, as you'd expect from lowering springs, hit a pothole and it'll definitely shake your bones, but the handling more than makes up for it. The first roundabout I took with the springs on reassured me of that. (y)

Yeah I'll give you that one, Dynolicious isn't the most accurate way to measure the 0-60 time and I definitely had my suspicions about it being that low. That site does seem to be fairly accurate though. I might get a mate with a stopwatch and finally settle it one day

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

Your better off doing a proper 0-60 run at a car show as even with a stopwatch they arent too accurate. I reckon it would do low 7's all day long.

Re: DlightSwitch's Blue T-Jet

i remember when you raced me on that weekend, i was hoping your car was like a 1.4 active or something, but being a sleeper and not seeing your FMIC before the race, you proper thrashed me. as soon as you got in to 2nd that was race over, haha!

Oh that was you :p I wondered if you were on the forum but you had your window up so I couldn't ask haha. Yeah that was the last race I got in before the strip closed

Oops didn't see you then, I didn't actually spend much time with my car when it was on the stand because I went to pack away the tent and then watched the Miss Fast Show contest and then before I knew it, it was time to leave

Haha that's a shame, what was your best time of the day then?
I remember that last run well, I thought I'd done well and beaten my time but unfortunately I hadn't

Oh yeah I walked up to you lot whilst you were BBQing and asked for chris because I needed my stand pass off him.
I made sure I got my timeslips every 2 runs :p

Sooo.. update time! :D

Car is still going well, still loving it! Gave it a bit of a service the other day just for peace of mind, changed the filter on the GSR and the spark plugs.

Last saturday I went down to Manchester to buy some nice wheels off a bloke you all know as Dom130 :p

You can see in the pictures how much lower his car sits than mine! And that's with the coilovers wound down nowhere near as far as they can go!

And here's some pictures of how the car looks now with the Rotas on, can't believe how light they are compared to the standard T-Jet wheels!

The eagle eyed among you will notice that the pictures were taken in the same spot as the pictures I took when I first got the car on the first page of the thread, because I thought it would be fun to compare :p
