So I'm new here :nerner: and thought I'd use this thread to introduce our Campovolo Grey Abarth 500.

We picked her up nearly a month ago, however we have since been away on our hols and only yesterday was the the first chance to really take it out for any proper leg stretching.

The Abarth replaces a much loved 2005 C4 VTS 180 Coupe, which amazingly for a French car was very mechanically and electronically sound.

Was it not for its immense thirst for fuel (about 18mpg around town) and the near £300p.a.(increasing) road licence the car would not have been traded in, however that combined with our lifestyle changes (we now only do about 6000miles p.a.) has resulted us downsizing. Its no longer practical to have a large 5year old 2.0litre 180bhp car sat in a garage going nowhere that will require £££ maintenance costs soon as well as the day to day running costs.

So the C4 VTS was traded in for the A500 and I'm in love :yum:. I really thought I would struggle down sizing however only 12 years ago I sold my 1275 Mini Cooper S and driving the A500 immediately brought a smile to my face and the memories flooding back. (y)

So as mentioned previously we went out on a pootle yesterday - Bristol to Weymouth via Bridport along the B1357 coast road (SW equivalent to the Manx TT circuit :slayer:) > Portland (Portland Bill -Lunch Stop) > Moreton (cup of tea stop) > Wool > Lulworth Cove > Weymouth (Fish and Chip Tea) > Fleet (dropping into our fave camp site for a wee!) > back out along the B1357 to Bridport > Axminster > Chard > M5 > home. Total mileage - just shy of 300miles.

I took my camera only to realise I left my Polarizing filter at home :bang: so with strong sun, the shots arn't great...The only half decent one of the day is a picture of the A500 sat outside Moreton Tea Rooms, Moreton, Dorset.

First job for the A500 is to take full advantage of the half decent weather we have at the mo and get some good wash polish and waxes under its belt before the weather turns nasty which is no doubt soon :(.

Be sure to flash/ wave if you see us!
