Punto (Mk1) My Mk1 55s Punto project, finally finished.

Introduction

How I got it:
Blown head gasket
Rusted through coolant passages in head
Handbrake not working
Rusted heater matrix
Warped discs
Cam cover leaking (a common problem in punto's? lol)
Shocks busted, except 1, lol
all locks broken (attempted break in, just broke the locks..)
passenger door damaged (chav attempted break in w/ crowbar) I'm hidin the green door as much as i can in the pics lol.
Don't remember what else was up.. not bad for £50

just gave the head a decent refurb and clean up, same with the rest of the mechanical parts of the engine


To this day:
Cross drilled and slotted discs, standard pads lol.
-60mm springs all round, apparently...
Spax shocks all round
40mm tricker TB
Remapped Sei chip
Stiffened engine mounts
20mm spacers all round
SX dash
Oil catch can
Induction kit
1.7 TD front bumper + ebay splitter
Ebay side skirts
JBL home made box (2x 10") with JBL gto 72.1 (i think?) amp
JVC head unit
Sporting center console
50% tint rear 60% light green tint on front..
GT3 cat-back Exhaust w/ 1.2 Punto manifold and downpipe
"NEVERBEEN!" sticker on suntrip along with "MOMANATORZ" (xbox gamertag)
and fiatforum stickers :slayer:
YAY FIATFORUM!

I also like black plastic numpers! It gives out that RAW look.

Colour codes only good if you have ZERO stone chip ..... as soon as it had been chipped, is it still colour coded? IMO nope :).

Random shiznit... need spring compressors to do the front... why did i sell mine :bang:
looks pretty fcked with the front up. it's even higher now cos of the major tilt thing goin on

aiming for this height for the front
any lower and the downpipe would be gone in 1 speedbump :cry:lol
why is the downpipe shockingly low in the first place compared to the rest of the underneath?? jeez:yuck:

dude thats low lol if you try driving that around my neck of the woods you will defo lose most of the undernieth of the car

it's not too bad except bottoming out the suspension arm on every lil bump :dead:.. better than before.. it was too low yesterday... sitting on the arms! i had to raise it by a bit lol.
only the tip of the exhaust touches on speedbumps and when the front is down soon the exhaust won't point down so much so it'll be better

where did you get the clothes off one?

Hacksaw haha. on jamex 60mm springs. spring rate ain't changed cos there were coils that sit on each other i just cut those off but it bottoms out sometimes :LOL: ok it does ALOT especially green st that area is sh!T! you have to secure the springs to be safe. i used tiger seal on the top bushings to hold the bushing and spring in place. some people say it's not safe but i know i won't be in the air anytime soon for the springs to come out lol.

haha I got em all of ebay. i still got the links for them, i can do a close up pic so you can see some

i was inspired by this Punto, i don't like it as a whole but i love certain bits of it like the interior and wheels but the paint job is horrible :yuck: i'm doin a "rat look" door (the green one) gonna rust it when i get the time to take the frickin paint off lol

i love the rat look its kind of the route i am going down but not that extreme, i'm just going to keep it looking rough around the edges

imo rat look is so bloody stupid.why spend that much time and effort on your car to make it look really shi*t
your car is pretty nice dont spoil it :bang:

I was inspired by the STICKERS haha.
I only like rat style when most of the car is original. I HATE forced rat style when people but a rusty bonnet on a CLEAN car?!
i got bashed up panels n shiz and a green door so i'm gonna make the most of what i got. :cool:

do you mean the Rat Punto? that is a nuts car... he burned it after it was like... finished.. and when touring was done round the UK.
a ratted car HAS to be dropped to the ground, imo :yum::yum::yum::yum::yum:

yeah i meant the rat punto lol

i have almost decided that i am going to get all the panels different colours but i will still paint the car black upto the crease around the archs and along the door so people at shows will see its meant to be this way lol

but i wont be lowering it anymore than it is as the speed bumps around here are deadly lol

I gotta go over every speed bump at 45 degrees or else i'd loose my rear silencer... lower it it's worth it (y)
do a photoshop mock up or somethin for the multi coloured panels !

I like the rat look but it does take a hell of a lot of design and visionary skills. IMO to do it properly everything needs a plan and nothing can be left to chance.
