not happy bunny just been out working on the engine and got the crank back in and 3 pistons.

came to put the 4th in and as it slotted in ~twang~

snapped a f**k**g ring and ~bang~ as the knocking stick went flying

so as you may have guessed its back on hold till i get a new set:bang::bang:
 
ok been out and working on the engine today got alittle bit more done

got the oil pump and drive back together and the crank plates back on and all tightened up so its time for the sump to go on but unfortinatly aint doing that till i get the engine stand so at a stand still again but i think i will start on stripping the interior now ready for the rollcage

just been shot down and its a biggie and i am now in a difficult situation and dont know what to do.

just been hit by a big finacial tighten up that i was not expecting and ouch it has hurt, and unless i can come up with an extra source of funds i might be on hold for awhile

watch this space

ok right i have been thinking about this whole engine in front of the wheels and i think i may look into moving the engine back a little and maybe tilting it slightly this project i have decided is going alot further than planned if i can get the engine back 3inch means i wont have to modify the inner arch but means i will have to restrict the steering angle as i may run into alot of problems with drive shafts but i will look at this more once engine is out and i have the GT lump in the bay and lined up

i'm using this thread to think out loud lol so i may change this idea at a later date lol
 
ok abit of an update been away for the last week or so and while i was away i have found out why i have a miss fire and why it has come over from the old engine

its the dam brake servo has got a small air leak and is causing the miss fire, i discovered this when i took of the brake servo vacume pipe and put my fingure over the pipe on the inlet and hay presto misefire is gone re connected it and its back so i went off to the breakers and got a second servo so will sort that prob over the next few days and i am picking up the engine stand tomorrow so will finish rebuilding the engine over the weekend and then it will be onto preping the car for the swap
 
well was out driving around visiting friends yesterday and as a result was driving on twisty country roads and i had so much fun with the 1108, left foot breaking, heal and toe, double clutching the lot i had so much fun and the 1108 is running fantastic i really am starting to have second thoughts about dropping the GT in now, i have never had so much fun when driving

i am starting to think i may leave this cinq alone and drop the lump into the back of a second cinq at some point as it looks like i am moving down country to start a new job and wont have time for this now, but dont hold me to that i may still do this project i am just putting it on hold till i know whats happening work wise
 
ok its offical now this has died a death and i have temp gone on hold and instead the cinq is going to get a p75 motor dropped in and then possibly i may turbo it but we shall see at the mo it will just run a stock p75 motor mated to the 1108 lump for nippyness lol

sorry to all thous that were watching this but since my situation has changed it wont be happening yet, and i say yet because i will be doing it at some point just not yet
