A wee bit bumpy, needs machine polishing I think

Also Ordered a Shark Fin, after a little modding to boost reception it was on, aslo tinted the windows my self, dark smoke, 20% light transmission. i'll get it done professionally next year but for £6 I gave it a shot and it came out pretty well... eventually:rolleyes:

Thanks very much to SIS body repair in Stone, Stafford for a cracking job :D

need save some money for now but in the pipe line so far is as follows:-
  • new indicator bulbs
  • european reverse light with a red bulb in so the back end is symetrical-ish
  • vinyl bit behind sky dome (will be done this week)
  • either refurb alloys in anthracite or get some abarths
abarth_alloys.jpg

  • angel eyes, daylines without the led's or some "home made" gp s1 headlights taken apart sprayed black and a bi-xenon projector incorporated:rolleyes:
  • Remap next year!
  • Induction possibly GSR
  • Get the dash looking something similar to this

and who knows what else :)
comments welcome :)
HeadLights

Ok, so when I can afford, after many other thing first, I want to change the headlights but can't make up my mind on which of the following two options.

Option 1:
A angel eye, taken apart, sprayed completely gloss black, and the halo replaced with LED's with a 6/8k hid kit, as below

Option 2:
Take a pair of standard headlights, split them open, paint them black (basically abarths) but then put projectors in them, seperate parts below.

Thoughts please :D I kinda like both ideas but obviously there is a lot more work in option 2... which I don't mind as I can get it looking how I want using a vac former and acrylic to "blend" in the projector within the "fake abarth" housing

Angel eyes are :yuck: IMO

Re: "Jess The Diesel Machine"

With most headlight you can just whack 'em in the oven to soften up the sealant, the prise them apart using a heat gun... a tricky process but i'm sure it can be done. Then the NIGHTMARE that is lining the projectors properly and level. If possible i'll be able get a pair of bi-xenons from a damaged car. which i have watched the guide for on youtube. however. the lines in the standard reflector, on most cars they are vertical and on the GP they are on the slant, so this may cause lining up issues =/

Re: "Jess The Diesel Machine"

knicking a couple of lines from Col's Tjet thread:

They're Compomotive CXT 18 in x 8J finished in anthracite. For anyone wanting similar, the offset is ET48. Clears the shock strut, as the parts manager at Fiat put it so gracefully, by a gnat's cock width. Can probably get away with 3mm spacers, which are on the way just in case I decide to do that.

I think he went on to put the spacers on, so would that mean I could get away (if I were to get the same alloys) getting them in a ET45 offset? am I right in thinking this? I've read up on the whole offset thing and reducing the number means moving the 'mounting face' closer to the centre line of the wheel. doesn't it?

:)

Damn Col's T-jet really was the dogs nuts. Probably one of the best photos on the thread aswell...

Those alloys really suit the car... getting anthracite?

Err yeah I think et 45 should be okay. :yum:

Col did put 3mm spacers on, but round the ring he had to raise the ride height as the arch was catching the sidewall of the tyre and starting to shave the tyre away.

should be fine unless you do alot of really hard conering

Re: "Jess The Diesel Machine"

I had angel eyes, at first i loved them but abarth lights are always abarth lights, so my 2p is to go for abarth lights defo!!

"Jess The Diesel Muncher"

Not updated in a while but I got round to buying some Abarth alternatives from shakey99 with Bridgestone potenza re050a on them with loads of tread left. £350 :D going fit them in the spring rather than risk damaging them in the ice, plus two of them need touching up(n). I also got myself a Dodo juice buff daddy machine polisher from the motorshow at Birmingham, just need a garage to use for the day  to work on the car in these FREEZING conditions. I also did a photoshop.

Photo0134_edited-3.jpg

It has been dropped in her arse, my new alloys fitted, red calipers, abarth headlights, and a dappled effect to hide my shocking photoshop skills:eek: any thoughts? https://www.fiatforum.com/gallery/data/500/Photo0134_edited-3.jpg

Re: "Jess The Diesel Machine"

Would you like mine?
After hurting the car last week and not really being able get it on the flat bed truck due to the stupidly low splitter, on standard suspension, I have decided to go for 18"'s when I can afford, so now the Abarths are uneeded, unless I've bent my alloys whilst damaging the car :( I will be taking the tyres off though.

Oh and the Headlights are photoshopped

Re: "Jess The Diesel Machine"

Did you end up finding anybody to do you dash conversion?

alos how did you find the experience with your dealer woodsleigh? i only ask as i'm looking at a motor from there - pretty much exactly the same as yours willey, just on 57. -can't decide between leather with armrest or climate and panooramic roof...
