Re: My Punto Evo 1.4 Sport

How does that tie into the Multiair? I've got 100,000miles on my 1.4 mk2b (T-jet and Multiair based on this engine) without a problem and the engine doesn't have a history of headgasket failiure.

On my 1.4 multiar the headgasket had to be replaced (didn't fail but caused all sorts of engine issues) at said mileage and my local dealer have told me that nearly all multiars are expected to have the same issue that were made before the correction in manufacturing ...

Based yes however it's still a whole new engine design, I was told by the Fiat technician that it looked completely different on the inside to a normal engine

 still no real issues with mine yet, though i do notice the engine isn't very "awake" while cold, pulling away in first/second at low revs can be abit iffy, but usually within a mile the engines upto temperature and all my gripes are out the window... not had any warning lights yet though & my dealer said he checked the engine and there's no faults.

Coming upto 3,000 miles now aswell.

Wow that's disappointing although it sounds more like a flaw in quality control on a particular part rather than a fundamental engineering flaw (like the 1.2 8v's poping headgaskets due to bad design).

I bet the dealers are ordering in stocks of Headgaskets then lol.

Re: My Punto Evo 1.4 Sport

Just tipped over the 4000km mark and no real problems with mine.

Obviously it is a new style of engine and hence may have technical problems.

Re: My Punto Evo 1.4 Sport

Hit the 5000km mark on Monday with a roadtrip across Denmark to Copenhagen. About 368 kms each way.

First real long(ish) haul for it and cruising at 110/130kph (varies), it felt very happy. Plenty of extra power on tap and fairly quite too.

Hey, sorry if this is a silly question, but what colour is this car? Crossover Black? Or Progressive Black? I can't get to my dealer and need to make a desicion on colour tomorrow lol!

Re: My Punto Evo 1.4 Sport

99% sure Miura is progressive black, Although labelled as "Nero Provocatore" in DK. There are forum member with Evos in Progressive Black which are:- MJT, Puffed Out Daddy and Meffsco
Click on their profiles and then the across arrow and choose My Vehicles to see there cars. Hope this helps :)
The website and brochure dont give a clear indication of colour as i found out myself :(

Indeed brochure sucks.

Mines Progressive Black.... and it looks black, just in certain intense light gets abit of a red tint to it, most people that have seen my car havent noticed the red unless its a blazing sunny day & then the bonnet gets a nice blush of dark red.

Crossover Black is your conventional metallic black.

But both are "Black" and there's no "baby **** brown" look to the progressive black like some cars seem to get, and both look brilliant when polished up, so if your after "black" you cant really go wrong with either of them, you wont have any nasty surprises like going outside one day to find a brown car.

Re: My Punto Evo 1.4 Sport

Been a little absent from here due to computer troubles.

Clocked up only 16,000 km in just over a year.

Nothing major to report really, other than the mediaplayer. (n)

The Air-con pipe did split and had to be replaced though. And it has started to make a BAD groaning noise while reversing on full lock.

I am completely fed up with the mediaplayer. Nope, mine is NOT fixed. The Danish dealer here says, and I quote "we can find nothing wrong with your unit".

This was said at the time it was stuck, clearly on the display saying "MEDIAPLAYER 00:00", all the time! No matter what you played. :bang:

Perhaps I should take that up with Fiat directly. :(

Re: My Punto Evo 1.4 Sport

I think I will contact Fiat DK. I think the dealer just doesn't want to change the unit, but it's warranty, so it's paid by Fiat right? Or do the dealers have to pickup the bill?

Sadly the next nearest dealer is owned by the same company.

Having the same issue with my car when reversing, Was told its the compound of the brakes and "is normal" to which i replied B*llocks im not even using the brakes and why does it only do this in reverse. Needless to say i`ll ensure i do use my local dealer after being fobbed off so many times

Yep, I'm not using my brakes either. It normally groans a LOT, when reversing down hill or on a backward incline.

Mine actually has got worse since it had it's first service, I guess because they fiddled with the brakes.

I know it sounds simple but have you asked your dealer to reset the blue and me system with there diagnostics machine. On my old Grande Punto the b&m locked up and the buttons would not work, however it still allowed me to play music aslong as i chose the song before plugging in. Took it to the dealer and the technician there told me he had seen the systems lock up on a few cars and all they needed was a reboot.
