Your camera skills are immense! Getting good photos from everywhere, love the sunset and the rainbow pictures. Can't beat them...
Cheers buddy! The pictures would be a lot crisper if i had a decent camera, i'm currently using a point and press digital so the results are not brilliant, but not bad either. Looking at getting a digi SLR soon (y)

That's beyond gibberish for me :bang: I'm sure it makes sense to many other people though.

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!)

Jesus, those are taken without a SLR?

What camera are you using?!
It's just a 3 year old Kodak V1003, 10 MP. Initially i thought the results were awesome, but a lot of new cameras have come out in last 3 years! What Digi SLR would you recommend for around £250?

EDIT: And here's a picture from today, it was a Fiat/Abarth/Alfa/Lancia meet! There were at least 50 cars there and we did the EVO triangle! (y)

Ok guys & gals, here they are. Bit on the different side for me, some will like, other won't! Those lights just reminded me of an 80's club, (and the cover for the Ministry of Sound Electronic 80's CD set!) and the car was so shiny i just wanted to capture some of those colours on the curves of the car! Some of them remind me of those roadside diners you get in the states. Some of them are perhaps purposely over enhanced, but with vibrant colours i think they fit with the theme! Tell me what you think.

Having bought an DSLR earlier this year, a few points;

1. On that budget you're looking at second hand. AFAIK the cheapest DSLR kits are about £360

2. Don't think it'll automatically improve your shooting. On coming from a P+S the learning curve (for me) is massive. You'll spend a *lot* more time setting things and become much more critical about your photos. I've shot over 2500 photos since January and only now am I starting to get to grips with it all.

3. It'll become <strike>a bottomless money pit</strike> an involved hobby

4. Damnit, now I want to go and clay the 500 and take some proper shots of it.

Nah unfortunately not. I like the Canon EOS 500D but that's expensive, you could get a (can't remember the name) camera that you can't change the lenses on; they're not bad.

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!)

Cheers guys, i'm not looking to do this professionally, just as a hobby. I did photography in College so know a fair bit, and if i can produce pics like this with a cheapo camera, i should be able to get even better pics with a more expensive one! (y)

Fair do's. All too often on the SLR forums we hear of people buying an SLR and automatically thinking they'll get amazing results.

A-level photography?

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!)

I took 3 years of fine art in college, and throughout the 3 years we were only really allowed to use the manual SLR camera's. Only the uni students could use the DSLR's.

Thanks to that we had to learn how to set up maual exposures, lense, frames, developing ourselves. Some kept with point and shoot tactics but ones that wanted to get good shots took the extra 2 mins to get it right and looking good for developing (we also had to develop our own films too which was quite fun).

Anyway sorry for thread jacking :D.

That's kind of what i did too, manual SLR with B&W film, getting the film out the camera in total darkness and trying to wind it around a spool is interesting! Then developing the photos in the 3 baths, very precise work, a few seconds can make all the difference. I did it as A-level, got B grade i think.

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!)

I have to stop looking at these pictures they make me sad :( I really want one. saw one In Wigan where i live 2 days ago for the first time. Only seen 3 in total 2 white - 1 black.

Gotta say mate, i love the green and red stripes you have put on. They look ace.

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!)

Don't think these rather poor pictures capture just how nice it was yesterday! 31 degrees outside, i went to drive off today and couldn't hold the wheel for more than a few seconds as it was so hot! Perhaps the video gives you an idea! Shorts and sandals anyone!? Lots of nice comments too from plenty of admirers in Barmouth!

Went camping last night too, so hot it never dropped below 20! Last pic is the view near where we camped in the woods! Good times...

Re: Draigflag's ABARTH 500 (new thread!)

Amazing pictures.. It is true, a more expensive camera wont make your pictures better.. it's the subjects, composition and creativity that make the picture...

Wish I had more time to go out and about to take my 500 to more exotic locations.. But last week I had some quick time to take these pictures:

https://www.fiatforum.com/members-motors/239213-my-3-month-old-500-a.html

I took it with my new Canon 550D, but as someone said in this thread before, it's a big learning curve. I only used point and shoot cameras before. But I do films so I have used all sort of film cameras and learned all about exposure and white balance and things like that..

I really like your pictures of the neon place.. very nice eyecandy.
