Panda (Classic) Red - the 1995 CLX Panda

Introduction

This is Red.

She's a 1995 CLX Panda. Bought off Ebay with no tax/mot and restored her to current glory with the help of some useful upgrades.

Oddly enough she's on a 52 plate due to a DVLA error :D

All hate and love comments appreciated!
haha thanks for the kind comments :)

I'm very happy that the Panda has a fan base, it's funny to see it burning modern cars at the traffic lights and making people second-guess the faded fiat badge.

After the complete failure of my first Panda I was determined to go the whole 9 yards with this one.

Only problem is that I've got the bug now. The go-faster bug!

This panda will do 0-60 in a touch less than 9 seconds. That includes a bad shift to 3rd gear due to gearbox death and a passenger with a stopwatch.

I need more acceleration and to make matter worse....certain anonymous parts such as Uno intercoolers and Garrett GT15 rebuild kits have started to collect in the garage.

More on that story when it arrives :)

Lewey, the race is on! I would definately crash though due to the complete comedy value of two biscuit tins nailing around a track.

An Oulton Park track day - in the wet - should be a fun one. As I'm sure you know the Panda is lift-off oversteer king.

We'll have to sort something out one day.

Alex :)

Impressive times. I can only get under 8 seconds with sticky tyres and a few attempts, on my own of course. My speedo does all the timing for me very accurately though.

Oulton sounds good! With my LSD, I get pretty serious lift-off under-steer TBH.

I guess it's all about corner approach, I probably gets tons of oversteer because I hate understeer. Nothing worse than going in a straight line when you want to turn.

I need to get my panda into the 6 second 0-60 bracket. With a relaxed approach and not starting the job untill I have evey piece of infomation and part aqquired, I reckon turbo 1242 will be done by the end of August / start of September.

One of those Focus ST's took a dislike to my unexpected acceleration and then proceeded to burn me at the next set of lights.

Not impressed!

Need forced induction :D
