Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

karbineftw cheers, yeah thats what im aiming for

TeeJayMk3 - I bought a Hawk Universal Remote Locking Upgrade kit, it was about £20 - link here: http://www.hawkcaralarm.com/Remote.html

and i managed to fit it fairly easily. the wiring guide that comes with it is not helpful so use this one:

https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-gui...cking-universal-upgrade-kit-mk2-8v-punto.html - thanks to L2wis for that guide

it took me about 3 hours in total but that was only because i misread one of the instructions so i had to go back and do it again , so make sure you read it carefully lol

but other than that it works a treat now :D

ahh ok then mate :)
so to get this right ...
it will work on fiat punto 5dr 1.2 8v mk2 ...
if you dont have central locking, this hawks kit
will make it so that you can lock your car with a remote yes :) lmao
i want to be dead sure before splashing out 20 quid haha

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

It should work on your car yes

BUT i have just noticed something, you said your car doesn't have central locking? you have to unlock each door individually yeah?

if this is the case then you need a DIFFERENT kit because you need more wires and actuators and all sorts, and is probably more difficult to fit, off the top of my head i cant think of any specific ones but im sure if you look on ebay or car sites you should find one

my car already had central locking so it was just a case of wiring a little remote locking box into the car

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

Nice tidy looking car mate.

To add to the list, maybe you want to consider:
*Removing the b-pillar vinyl

*Colour coding the interior plastics cos they just look cheap and ruff with OEM so sand, prime, paint and laquer them, i canhelp you with this if you want and there a guide ithik(y) https://www.fiatforum.com/punto-guides/209501-how-colour-code-your-side-vents-interior.html all interior plastic come off with easy just ask if your not sure how to remove summat.

*Wire neons everywherre lol:D up to you where to wire them but as TeeeeJaiiii says wire some footwell neons they look really neat and tidy no wires or tubes visible(i can also help you with this and am gonna make a guide today on how to wire them i have neons undercar, bumper grill, footwells, heater vents and glovebox)(y) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BLUE-Interior-Neon-Light-Lights-Kit-footwell-boot-neons_W0QQitemZ190343611481QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item2c515d0459 they have different colours just email them or search through there shop(y)

*50mm drop for sure get some budget prings from LOSUSPENSION.COM very good springs iv got them on my mk2 only£75 ish(y) http://www.losuspension.com/p4080213.htm

This is my punto dropped 50mm big imrovement anything under 50 wont be as noticable and vinyl & door strips removed and colour coded:

Neons in footwell:

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

All good ideas, ill definitely lower it at some point, cheers for the link btw

and removing the b-pillar vinyl should be an easy weekend job eh?

i reckon ill do some of the other stuff before i colour code the interior plastics though, it just seems like a real pain to get everything off, and i use the car fairly regularly so i need to find the time to do it really

also nice car to you too, especially your alloys, i'd really like to get some in that style (with all the spokes) but in matt black

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

Should take no more than 10 mins with a hair dryer either side. I personally think it makes the car look lower to the floor with the B pillar strips on. :)

:yeahthat:

I agree with Karbine, looks better with the vinyl. It wouldn't work so well unless you had a black car like brin :)

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

Speakers, amp and wiring all arrived.

Also managed to get hold of some clear acrylic, you will see why when I post pics when it's done ;)

Easter holidays coming up so should be able to get all this installed in the next few days. Should also be able to do door handles and wing mirrors, and maybe bumpers if I have enough money.

Watch this space, pics to come

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

Right, all fitted and working :D

Unfortunately I didn't manage to to have my little acrylic see through box idea because the one I had turned out to be too small for the amp, so I will have to make one.

At the moment it just looks a little messy. Once I start a proper boot build I'll tidy it all up.

Here are some pics of the installation (amp only), they are in no particular order.

Note all the random sugar I found under the seat :S

Re: My Punto Mk2 - will add to it in the future

Haha tis a good car for tinkering about with. Actually I had a mk1 before this one and that was easier and I miss the space in that car.
