Stilo The No1 GP Schumacher Project. Please.

Introduction

Hi so here is my New Schumi. (05 35k miles)

Yes i know its a crappy mobile pic. Ill get her back out for a couple of decent pics at the weekend.

So the plan is to sell some old speakers and give the body work a good going over. There are a few nicks and dinks but once they are sorted the exterior will be top notch.
The wheels are a little scuffed so they need a refurb. Im thinking of having them powder coated so i will have a play on photoshop when i get a minute.

Again i have no pics but the next thing will be to put in my reclining sports seats and smaller aftermarket steering wheel. Bye Bye Airbags.

Then i have the install to start just as soon as i pay for a warranty and window tints so no twocer can see in.

If anybody has any comments or ideas then im all ears.

Stu
lol, u know what ima say...it looks awsome blended and extended......time to find a madley skilled body shop....

Dont forget that my side skirts are quite a bit different to normal so if you want to send me a pic of yours i can try and do a quick shop after work.
Taken On a relatively good camera phone would be best. (y)

:yum: one gorgeous looking stilo (y)

Why thank you :)

I thought it looked ok and i do have a box lid on this car :D
I would rather not hide the HU as i really want easy access too it. The Hu will be used from day to day, i would only put in the comp to handle Sat nav and a few fun duties.

Its nion impossible to get the hinge out because of the screws nearest the window. I managed both the ones on the right but failed the left even with a right angled screw driver.

Guide.. Pah... Im coming to your house so you can show me how to do it lol. Itl be ages yet anyway. I think that i will just keep squirreling away a few £ per month until i have enough to do it. I would buy it bit by bit but then everything will be out dated before i even get everything lol.

oh i got the old one out! i just cant line up the screws on the replacement....the trick was to use a bendy adapter with a ratchet spanner which clicks at like 2degrees....your welcome here! as soon as these exams are done, ill be on a years placement 2 days a week (basically a dos lol) so most of my time will be spent fiddling with the stilo in some way or another.....

Cool ill get saving then. I still have a long way to go with the rest. Im considering going all out and sticking a pioneer ODR in the footwell

A couple more pics. Just showing a bit of cleaning TBH. I could get right into this whole detailing thing. So much that apart from cleaning i have only run one side of spear wires. Found the rout for the power cable and points for TB3.

I have finally got round to starting the install so i will be starting a couple of guides when i get round to it. I havnt got any final after shots of the weekends work. But here are a few tasters.

Messy Boot with the speaker wires run to the front and the purple ones through the doors for the mid range.

I had already started deadening the wheel well during the week. But this is how it looked after stripping the seats and first side panel out before cleaning and degreasing.

That was only after saturday morning so i will try and get some pics of what the rear looks like now this evening.
I would like to say its much, much easier to strip the side panels as you deaden each Rear Quater. This way you can get the panels back in quickly before you forget how it all go's back and then remove the other after.

After clean and degrease.

And one for the portfolio if i decide to compete of nice and tidy wiring

hmmmm, inspiring....might have to get off my arse and use the 1gal tub of spectrum second-skin stuff i bought about 6 months ago.....last exam tomorrow.....almost time to do stuff!....question, i want to sound deaden for the obv resons, but also on motorways at 70 ish just cruising, because of the SS exhaust, there is a bit of a din, anything i can do at the same time to stop the noise getting in??

what did you use to clean/degrease?

I just used a bit of Bilt Hamber degreaser in a bucket of water. (y)

You could try something like luxury liner pro to reduce noise but i will eventually just go mad with a couple of cans of expanding foam in the rear quaters lol.
Just use anything solid and foamy to fill any gaps where noise might get in.

They are only just illegal (the standard tint over the limit) so unless they just so happen to pull me and have the measuring device there isnt a lot they can do. Also with not being completely blacked out that will reduce the chances of being pulled over.

Also i live in quite a high crime area so such minor things like that are more tolerated as we have very few police with a lot to do. I had the same on my other Stilo and got pulled a couple of times and the police were fine with them.

Ok cool :)
I see alot of people round here with dark fronts too.
Unfortunately I just bought some 65% :(
the rest of my rear is 50%:slayer:
