Stilo The No1 GP Schumacher Project. Please.

Introduction

Hi so here is my New Schumi. (05 35k miles)

Yes i know its a crappy mobile pic. Ill get her back out for a couple of decent pics at the weekend.

So the plan is to sell some old speakers and give the body work a good going over. There are a few nicks and dinks but once they are sorted the exterior will be top notch.
The wheels are a little scuffed so they need a refurb. Im thinking of having them powder coated so i will have a play on photoshop when i get a minute.

Again i have no pics but the next thing will be to put in my reclining sports seats and smaller aftermarket steering wheel. Bye Bye Airbags.

Then i have the install to start just as soon as i pay for a warranty and window tints so no twocer can see in.

If anybody has any comments or ideas then im all ears.

Stu
Haha it's Friday I wouldn't expect any different. The anthracite wheels will tie in nicely when I get the windows tinted. I wanted the tints done before brooklands but they can't fit me in as I only got the car insured yesterday and work away so need the car during the week.

i think i need to chance my FF password for a breathalyzer :D

Hey nice car! Are you still looking for paint as i may be able to get you some as one of my best friends dad owns scuderia eccosse! haha

Na I got the car resprayed in the end. The place mixed up a really good match. How are Scuderia doing these days it's been ages since I have been involved with that kind of thing.

Ok not the best angled pics for the job i know. I need to do some photoshop work on these, but i got the tints done on Saturday.

And Tint Strip

looks good. I can see where your going with the colours now (y)

looking forward to seeing more pictures :)

Ha ha thats what my mum said.
Now i have decided to introduce a little bit of white into the mixture
Thats what these pics were meant to be for but im just lazy so going to trust my intuition and just get it done without photoshopping first

Nope only the strip up top is tint on the windscreen. Ive not had the guts to go for the full screen. It would be immensely difficult (and im Anal) as you cant heat it up or it will pop.

The wheels are powder coated. I know you have to get up really close to tell the difference but the 2 step (black then silver) does make a difference over a standard pre mixed RAL Anthracite colour.

And Mehmett (sorry I spelt that wrong didn't I) I am thinking of spraying all the matt black bits in gloss black. I have always been a fan of non body coloured trims but they do look a bit out of place in standard guise.

What paint do you mean? If you mean for thebumpers then it got done in the paint shop but the paint is rubbish. What was ever wrong with cellulose lol.

If you mean what black am I going to use, then the small bits iwant to do I will get away with using Neogene. I'm not sure on what it's compound is but give it a thick lacquer and it lasts for ever.

i meant the bumpers....lol yeah water-based just seems "limp"
i think its due to the lead content of the cellulose paint....so they switched to water-based for solid colours, metallics u can still just go and buy, shocking!
for some reason my door mirrors and spoiler have gone browney :( wanted to find some decent paint to re-do them....oh well water-based looks like the only option unless i want to buy enough to do it in touch-up pots @ £13 a pop

has anyone thought about smoothing the top edge of the side skirt into the body?? make it look more a part of the car rather than an "add on" ?

You would need to have some mad kills to do that as the skirt comes to the edge of the door.
Ill do a quick phoToshop.
