You'd have to wire up the airbag ecu, with whatever sensors it needs. It's probable that the wiring is in the loom, it's cheaper to make all the looms the same and have some spare wires than it is to make individual looms for different variants, but I reckon sorting the airbag would be more hassle than it's worth!

But if its to much hassle to wire it up then i wont bother. Its not like il be loosing out on an airbag as i dont have one in it now

The panels are usually weakened in a star pattern so that they split from the centre allowing the airbag out. If you cover this in fabric then it can't split properly. If you're going to wire the airbag I'd suggest, for safety, that you leave that bit uncovered, as if it can't split properly it's likely to propel a large chunk of dash out into the passenger compartment in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of injury rather than reducing it! Don't want to be a spoilsport, or naysayer, just pretty certain that it's not worth the effort of wiring it all up if it's not gonna work!

Posts: 1,376 Thanks: 69 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Re: Out with the old, in with the new (my punto mk2a progress thread) sneeky peek of the dash in the car. desided to spray instead of fabric as it would have been a payn to get the fabric right without creases and folds and cuts etc. so anyways heres 1 pic. glove box not on yet but thats black with blue handle. did have it all on in the car and it looks brill but iv come accross some electrical problems so had to strip the dash again. finishing it off tomorrow........

Posts: 1,376 Thanks: 69 Trader Rating: 0 ![]() | Re: Out with the old, in with the new (my punto mk2a progress thread) well nipped out to halfords today and spent £8 on a box of 100 mixed mini fuses. replaced every mini fuse in the ecu box and then rememberd the fuse box under the bonnet. replaced all mini ones in there to ( but to be fair none of them looked damaged) then looked at the big ones under the bonnet and what do you know one has shortend. so went to a motor factors near mine and payed £5.98 for 2 big fuses. and problem solved. so now car is all put together. heres pics........ now i lknow its not best job in the world and i did a few scratches putting it all ack in. but when i can be botherd i will be touching it up ![]()
