Panda (Classic) Poppi - The Preserved Panda

Introduction

Here is a few pictures of my early, very early birthday present. As you can see, she is immaculate. A full service history, all MOT's and including original bill of sale. Receipts for everything. Current mileage 34,932.

All credit for her condition goes to her former owner James :slayer:

She has been re-christened, with James' agreement as . . . . Poppi.

Lovely velour type material interior. Very retro . . .

Well I have to admit, in the pic's the car looks better without the hub caps, but if they're as you say with the brush marks then the caps must be a better look in the flesh.

Wheels look nice till you get close up though and thats when the marks really show from the brush lines. Was toying with having a go myself but at the moment time is a issue so thought we would chuck the trims on and then wait till christmas is out the way and then maybe get them done. But the garage wanted just over £300 to do them and being truthful I dont think it is worth spending that amount of money on doing a set of wheels. Gonna shop around after christmas.

We have (well John has) decided that the stripes are going back on one thin stripe and a thick stripe.

300 for wheels

I knew things were more expensive down south but thats stupid! Only cost us £185 for the wheels and touch ups on the whole of our Panda. Although our wheels were not in to bad a condition luckily.

This was a place up north somewhere and we had to deliver them. Although that included refitting and balance etc but sill a lot. I nearly colappsed when I heard the price too.

As you say london is expensive so hence us leaving Poppi up in Coventry and getting the whole welding thing done the other week. AA guy said it will get you home though. Just thought while she is up here we might as well get family to book her in to their local garage. At a cost of £186 it was worth it as It probably would have been another £100 on top here as the labour charge is more.

Gonna keep searching to see what I can find. Never know may come across a good set of silver steel rims before hand. (y)

Are you a detective?

No, MorSe the pity :D

However, I did discover that Poppi's 2007 Europe / 2008 Ireland scally entry name was "Foxes Box".

Also this 2007 piccy too!

Does anyone know if the car was entered in the 2008 Scally to the continent (as well as the Irish one)? Found a vid with a red panda but only from behind so no distinctive stripes on view :D

Hi guys!!

Just found the pictures as I was reminiscing about previous Panda adventures and found new pictures!!! She still looks amazing and even now, the best car I've ever owned.

She needs her stripes back lol!

Glad her new owners take great care of her :):)
