Stilo Back in business - Stilo

Introduction

Well thought i would start this thread with the car i had...

Fiat Stilo 1.2, Red, £2300 and i bought it from Bob in disguise - absolutely loved this car, it was stunning and the best Fiat i have ever owned, cheers BOB!

Reminder of what it looked like.

ignore the fire just like the angle of the car and couldn't be bothered photoshopping it out

The unfortunately this happened when my sister was looking after it while i was off the road...

i was nearly in tears when this happened :(

ANYWAY now i am back in business and i have decided to finish off my plans for the Stilo, i have been dreaming about it for so long so might as well see it through. I had given myself a choice of three colours BLACK, RED, or SILVER. In the end i ended up with silver, looking at the car above though i do hope i have made the right decision. I have also noticed a few people on here with silver stilo's... coyle and JFL for example, love the cars guys (y). (hope you don't think i am treading on your toes in terms of the look i am going for, as i wouldn't want to upset anyone ) I have just had a vision of what i wanted 3years ago and intend to stick to it :). It wont be the same but a kind of mixture of two. The picture below will give a rough idea. (y)

here is what i have bought...

Still a 1.2 but hope to upgrade the engine next year depending on cost and other issues whatever they may be..

this is a rough idea of the style i want as well in the end, trying to keep it fairly simple, possibly a schumacher front bumper, boot spoiler and a bumper added aswell, cant think of the name of the bumper but you will see soon.

Yeah sorry took the picture from the stilo for sale on here lol but it was the one with the best quality and angle to put some of the stuff i wanted on :p

Hope you will all enjoy!

Cheers Everyone
Yeah smash was bad and wrote it off, only got 1700 back from the insurance as well. The silver one i think is a good choice as it was he best looking one i went to looked at. Reason why i got it really. There are a few scratches but that will be done when i get a chance to book it in. But you are right it does hid e it well. :) Once i get all the main bits sorted i can then move on to other things. I want to do as much myself though. Not mainly to save cost but i do ejoy the time i spend on the car. I go into my own little world then and nothing else matters... LOVE IT... LOVE FIAT really. The old man was slagging them off today when messing with the hubs but he likes it, just doesnt like to show it haha(y)

right plan is...

get the car done the way i want it in the next 2-3 months, this is a bit of a heavy target but just want to get it sorted asap. Doubt i would meet it either but worth a shot

Windows have been done last weekend and finished off today (Paul @ Window Tinting Manchester did an amazing job and i am really happy with the result)

Exhaust has a hole in it and needs doing, so full cat back on Friday morning.

Wheels
Body extras + respray
might go lower but not decided, it depends how it looks with new wheels on

Leather interior possibly from a breakers? Question though why doesn't cream go with silver?

other bits and bobs that haven't mentioned (y)

Exhaust on now and looking good, first thoughts was that it was a bit big but kinda getting use to it now and if it doesn't fit into the cadamuro rear bumper sections then its been made possible for me to change the tip so all is well (y)

Meaning to put some pics up soon but camera is broke so soon as i buy a new one or even borrow sisters then i will put them up :)

Well finally had to change the old 3.5" DVD player that i got with the car as the face unit finally fell off and snapped beyond repair. So i have had to go out and buy a new one. Nothing special really its a 7" DVD (BEAT 600) seems to do the trick for what i want. I wasn't really prepared to spend over £500 on something that i wasn't going to use that often even though i still wanted the option. But all in all, Good unit, sound good, easy to use, picture quality ok, bluetooth really good, easy to install (bar the tv antenna?) want to install freeview soon so not to fussed about that at the minute. I have everything else sorted though.

Only problem is things are coming up which are setting me back on the alloys that i want. Really starting to annoy me now as i want them NOW!!! looking at getting them in the next 4weeks :bang: will be well annoyed if i dont.

Pic update when i get my camera up and running again :yum:

Finally new alloys ordered from Rimstyle

17" KESKIN KTN 5 - 7.5 front 9.0 rear with 215/45

2-3 weeks waiting for them to get here from Germany though :( :bang:

ACE when they get here :-D

Yeah camera is broke otherwise pics would be up of where i am at so far.

I have a littlen on the way now so WILL have the car finished, the way i want it in the next 3months, before i cant afford it. Its like super super fast track now (y) All good though i am excited by the terror coming  First formula 1 female driving :D

wheels cost 967 in VAT + delivery bought them from rimstyle, seen them on a German forum and they do looked nice. Gary is the sales rep i spoke to, ace service from him and seemed like a nice guy. I did question the KTN 5 and was going to go for KT4 as they do fit the stilo but thought i would have been gutted about making the wrong choice a few months later. If that makes anysens?

Looks great mate. Getting my cat-back system on Thursday and the trim I chose is pretty similar to yours, are yours twin ovals or round? Hard to judge from the angle on the last pic.

Mine will be 3" twin round, which I wasn't sure about as was going to go single big bore, but seeing yours on a similarly coloured/trimmed Stilo sets my mind at ease with my choice. Pondering what it'll sound like once on as well :chin:

Oh and the use of the coin holders as an SD Card holder is (y) :D

yeah they are oval 3x9 when i had it put on i was worried that it was a bit to big for what i wanted but now i have got use to it I like it. I have had three exhaust put on cars. My Cinquecento (stupidly loud- funny at the time), red Stilo (mildly loud - you could hear it when idle and when accelerating) This one you can hardly hear it still and slightly when at 2 - 3000 revs. The best i feel. I think now that even if it was a 2.4 it would never really sound like a monster so kept it realistic for what it is. Personal pref though.

lol at the SD cards, didn't think that anyone would even get onto that :). I never really used them for money, never in that long and not that many of them. You can only just get a 5p in the smallest one haha. I recently cleared about £5 in change from the wishing well (centre holder):p

Give me a heads up when you get yours done dude i would like to see the outcome (y)

Aye, no probs. Shall pop an update in my pic thread about it most likely, the guy who's doing it's got a good rep as well. Did the custom job on the Renault Avantime the Top Gear guys tried to tune to go round the track, so got faith in him to produce something decent... http://www.simonscustomexhausts.co.uk/index.html

I'm like you with the sound, don't want ridiculously loud. The raspberry effect that many horrible back boxes give is something I'd like to avoid at all costs for example :p Just want something purposeful and perhaps increase performance slightly. Wanted to upgrade my system anyway, but a split developed in the centre section, so seemed the perfect excuse to bring the upgrade forward a little ;)

In terms of the style, the chap who's doing it brought out a few tailpipe designs. The oval twin was rather nice, but the circular one's I felt had the edge slightly. At least the one's he had a supply of. Also had one that was shaped to the bumper, 911 style, but wasn't sure about the way that one would look so figured I'd play it relatively safe :)

The coin holders have never been used on mine either. I think it's for all the toll roads on the continent really as had them on a few of the Italian cars I've driven. If I get a new head unit that takes SD Cards, I'll be sure to try the same trick you have :D

yeah i don't think you would get much more performance on a full cat back but always a plus to get it anyway.

I had the guys who did mine put it so if i wanted to i could just change the tailpipe (not backbox aswell) just the tailpipe (y) BONUS. If i change my mind next year or whatever just go back they sort it out for me. Cheap as chips! :slayer:

Nice car mate, looking good. Love the alloys from the first silver stilo that you took from someone else. What make are these, and where could one look for them?

They were on the car when i got them, not to sure on the make but i will have a look tonight when i get back to Manchester. It will probably only be the make of them as no other details on the wheel not even wheels size? i would also sell you them when i get my new ones but i think i would be ripping you off charging you 50p. They are wrecked and the paint is falling of probably after an old referb???
