Grande Punto Possibly the coolest learner car around!

Introduction

Here's a few pictures of my new Grande Punto.

I'm a driving instructor and the car is used as the tool of my trade as well as my personal transport.
I Learnt in a diesel 206. It was quite funny how much i stalled the car when i passed and started driving my Renault 5 1.4 petrol on my own. I did feel the muts nuts driving a renault 5 blue with red GTT body kit and a boomin sound system straight after my test.
It does slightly annoy me that mummy and daddy buy the kids these brand new cars these days, i had too work for years to save up for my first old banger.

Quite.

I had one pupil - a girl at an exclusive and expensive private school who, on returning to the school after passing her test with me, was given a brand new Golf R32 by her rather wealthy (and foolish) parents.

She wrote it off within a week and so her parents bought her another one!

Utter madness. :bang::bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

I think the word you are trying to find is jealous. You cant hate the kids because their parents have done well in life and are in a position to buy them their first car. Not like you would say no if your parents said we will buy you your first car is it? I know i didnt.

Shes female, you could of given her anything and she would of written it off :p

Didn't say earlier gorgeous looking car, specced just right (y)

Thanks.

I couldn't have the sunroof because it would eat up the headroom that, being a tall person, I really need (I've had enough of braining myself on sunroofs!) and also, there'd be nowhere for the magnetic roof sign.

The privacy glass looks silly IMHO without the front windows done.

My next project is fitting the two Brodit Proclips I have on order with my mobile phone active cradle and TomTom active cradle.

They are slower drivers i will say that and they have less accidents because they dont spend as much time driving as blokes do. My sister in the year she has been driving has gone through 5 or 6 passenger mirrors due to her lack of spacial awareness and not paying attention to stuff thats near her on her passenger side.

i've done an extensive experiment on my drive to the office and women tend not to indicate or have any thought's in advance (reading the road ahead), so drive slower. These mistakes make other road users around them usually men to have accidents lol.

Gorgeous car, I learned in a naaasty 1.0 Corsa and then passed my test in a 1.1 s*itroen C2 in bright yellow.

I do, i appreciate what my dad has bought for me, he didnt have to i didnt ask him to get it for me but he did so meh. I worked 2 jobs since i was 16 all through college till uni, i couldnt of afforded a car even if i had saved up everything i earnt. I came to uni i ended up being in only 2 days a week i asked him if i could come into the office and help out as doing nothing was boring the living hell out me. Ive also worked every summer since i was 16 whether it be for my dad or for companies he uses through his business so i do know the value of work :p

Nice car, Id have liked to learn in that, I passed in a 1.7CDTi Astra, I did an emergancy stop and the BSM roof cone fell of hit the bonnet and hit the ground

Haha, what did the examiner say?! Hope you didn't fail for it!

This thread has made me feel decidedly old. Most of you seem to have learned/passed in cars that didn't even exist when I took my test.

My grandfather used to have an Allegro but his was a sort of greeny beigey yellow colour. He then replaced that with a chocolate brown Moris Ital (nice!...NOT).

My other grandfather had a light blue Vauxhall Viva and replaced that with a "Roman Bronze" Mark 3 Cortina!

I do think there was a distinct shortage in taste in cars in my family in the '70s! :yuck:

Mind you, my Dad had an Opel Ascona Berlinetta in red which was pretty cool!

I learnt to drive in the new shape Suzuki Swift 1.3 TDI Sport and loved it lol. I raced a flower van on one lesson haha, from the lights although only to 30-35 as didn't wanna break the law :p
