Punto (Mk2/2b) My Mk2b

Introduction

Thought I'd upload pics of my 2004 1.2 8v Punto Active Sport.
Just gave her a quick clean today, the road gritted wheels and mud splashed doors weren't a good look! Peeled off the Active Sport badges too, think it looks better without. Wouldn't mind a couple more horsepower but love my car loads!

Fitted:
-17" Wolfrace Pro Sprint alloys, with Abarth centre badges,
-Abarth skirts and badges,
-1000w sub & amp, 250w components with amps and pioneer head unit (all from my best mates on my birthday! :D)
everything else is pretty much standard.

To fit:
-35mm lowering springs
-Stilo front splitter

Possible plans for future:
-Remove door strip (if I can convince my dad it provides almost no protection against door dings)
-Fit Abarth door sills (if I'm lucky enough to come across a pair!)
-Colour code door handles and mirrors
-Xenon sidelights (mine are abit yellow!)
-Tint rear 3 windows smoked
-GSR induction kit (if I somehow come across much more money!)

Let me know of opinions, and any ideas for future mods - although my budget is very limited at the moment!
Cheers

After waiting forever for my dad to fit the 35mm springs, decided to return them and order 50mm lowering springs! I'm probably crazy as the rides harsher, but they look so good on 17's from what I've seen on other Punto's!

Hopefully after a few more mods the car will be looking like this photoshop (made by chrisieboy2000 in Punto Mk2)!

Lowered 50mm, rear smoked tints, headlight backing sprayed black. (Already removed bump strips & smoked side indicators).
Any opinions appreciated

Thanks :)
Yeah spotlights are standard in the Active Sport and Sporting 2b's as far as I know. I guess they're an extra on other models.
Nope the side repeaters light up orange like the standard ones so are completely legal and are fine in MOT's.
I got the side skirts off eBay about a year ago, from a German seller who I can't find anymore. They're copies of the Abarth skirts, you could just buy the real ones from Fiat, but they're very pricey! Just search eBay and the web for copies or second hand ones, unless you have lots of spare cash for real ones!!

hhhmmmmmmm,thanks for that
i wish i had spare cash but my punto has just broke.its in the garage for new pistons, rings, shells, crank and a load of other things that i dont understand lol.its cost me just under £1000 but i think its worth it coz im goin to keep it and put one of those focus induction kits on thats on its way :D when i get my car back ill put a few pics on and you can maybe give me a few tips on how too improve it :worship:

Sorry to hear about the problems. At least you'll appreciate it when your cars fully running!! I was thinking about that induction kit, apparently sounds really good. But think I'll just be patient and save up for a GSR.
Yeah let me know when you've put some pics up :)

looksgreat :D
Cheers :)

Where did you get the Stilo splitter from? I've been looking everywhere.

Also, do you still have the 35/15mm lowering kit? I'm interested in buying if you do.

Got the splitter from my local Fiat dealership parts section, cost about £20 I think. It was a 'Desira' delearship, maybe check their website if you haven't got a local dealer.

And no sorry, returned the 35/15 springs and bought the 50/50 as an almost direct swap. Definately choose Spax whatever you buy, I'd fully recommend them.

There's the Desira Colney Hatch/Friern Barnet two minutes away from me. Actually, talking of which, is that the one you got it from?

Whereabouts in London are you? Maybe see you around.. ;)

Yeah thats the one I got it from! The parts section there sells them.

I'm just down the road in Barnet, I pass through Colney Hatch Lane every so often so might see you around!
I'm after that white Brera Spider in the showroom, stunning car!!

I'm in Whetstone so not far at all. I recognise the look of the houses in your pics but I can't put my finger on where they are. You're not in one of the little roads between Oakleigh Park station and east barnet village/oakhill park are you?

I usually drive down Friern Barnet Lane and Colney Hatch between 8.30-9 on a Sat morning and about 1pm on a Sunday. Sometimes see a couple of Puntos parked on Friern Barnet Lane on the left hand side opposite the park. One's a black mk2 with the Punto lettering spaced out on the back and the other is a blue 2b.. Active Sound I think, but don't think either of them are on here.

I test drove the black MiTo last month, didn't think it was any quicker than what I've already got, and the GSR induction still always puts a smile on my face when I put my foot down and I see people's reaction in my rear view mirror. =P Can show you it if you wanna see it in the flesh.

Your dad might have another customer if he's local - I'm gonna need someone to fit lowering springs, paint my callipers, supersprint backbox and abarth side skirts in the next couple of months ;)

Yeah I'm pretty close to East Barnet village, think I've seen the Punto with the spaced lettering on the back.

To be honest I think I'd always have preferred a 2b sporting to the MiTo, purely because I'd love to take a standard 1.4 and stick a GSR & Supersprint on like you, and then strip out the rear seats, put in racing front seats and lower it a decent amount! Would be a really quick hatchback!

Have you seen the red Punto 2b with black alloys, debadged grill, vented front discs and a smoothed look. It's on the side road next to that pub in Whetstone that used to be a Harvester, now it's 'Sizzler' I think. Looks really good!

My dads garage is in Cuffley, but 90% of his customers are local. Let me know if you need the work done, he's done most of that work to mine, excluding the engine mods (not worth it on my 8v!) But yeah he can do all of that.

Mines going back in to the garage for tracking, and the bumper needs a few touch ups - Changing my number plate to a smaller one, so the old screw holes for the UK sized plate will need filling in!!

Fitted my new front plate, it's the same size as an Italian front plate and fits neatly on the original fixings. I like it, think it's a subtle mod that improves the front end. My mums not so sure though!

Got home early today and decided to give the Punto a decent clean. Still in need of a polish though - ran out of time!

Mate I love it. I'll be keeping an eye out.
Thanks, might see you around!

Cheers!

very sleek looking mk2b mate, did you lower it 50mm??? how you finding it if you did??
Yeah dropped 50mm on Spax springs, to be honest it is very firm, but I'm totally used to it now. Plus all the speedbumps in my area are being removed, and the potholes are being filled in, so it's totally fine now.
Had slight rear rubbing when I had weight in the back, but thats now gone after I trimmed the inside of the rear bumper (all out of sight) so now it only rubs with 3 rear passengers (I never carry 3 in the back anymore).
I'm really happy with the springs, so would definately do it again!
You thinking of going lower?
Your car inspired me to fit the 17's! :) Still think yours is the best looking black Mk2b!

I don't usually like the mk2b's, but this looks brilliant. One of the best Punto's i've seen. Love the alloys-perfect for the colour of the car. And your right, looks so good on 50mm springs with 17s on!

I know it has been asked and answered but is thier any chance anyone could tell me a more local place to birmingham or a website to get your stilo front splitter?

Many thanks all
