Bravo (Classic) My sons Bravo 1.4 in wolf's clothing

Introduction

Fiat Bravo 1.4SX with an Abarth Body kit
Here are a few pictures of my 17 Year old son’s first car…..
He bought it 9 months ago in order to learn to drive. The incentive was there and he passed his test 3.5 months later. For a first car, he is one happy puppy. Yes, we know it's only a 1.4 engine but as a Mum, I'm more than happy with this. He's not that bothered yet anyway. When you've been used to a pushbike for your transport, this is the bee's knees. ;)

You can fix the grill back on tight with double sided number plate tape across the top and down the sides. If the nut holders are broken off araldite gets them back on tight.

The tiny tabs right on the edge brake of very easily that’s why I decided to use number plate tape instead of buying a new grill.

Very very nice. The GB sticker needs to go though.
I know… if you look closely it’s hiding a large crack in the "de-badge" boot lid. It was cracked when he bought it and so the sticker was a cheap makeover solution. When he gets some more money he hopes to refill and paint the boot. Seems to be more of a project for hubby than son at the moment!

Well spotted the nuts have broken off so nice idea… next project I think

The car was only supposed to be a cheap runaround/first car and as mentioned, paid for with his part time job whilst still studying in 6th Form. Yes we do help him out with "The Bank of Mum and Dad" but there are limits (if someone would only tell his Dad though...he's like a pig in muck;) )

Tracy.

thats a gorgeous car for a 17-yearold to be driving! who needs speed with that sort of styling, at least the low power will help him learn without crashing hopefully...

oh and well done drunkenspike for quoting the pics and all, we dont all have ultra fast broadband :p

Your computer downloads the images only once to its hard drive. Then if the page shows the image twice it loads the image from Hard drive twice at this point your broadband speed is not a factor your Hard Drive Graphics Card and Memory will be the problem :p:rolleyes:

He'd better get the hamster food out then :)

Car looks in good shape, all but the hidden crack you mentioned, always liked the Bravo in blue but the Abarth kit really does look good (y)

Make sure he keeps on top of the oil changes and topping up as the wee 1.4s need a bit more care than the others when it comes to the engine lubrication.

Well done him for passing. Now he's just gotta keep driving safe - and watch out for others doing silly things.

and not get drawn into daft things like being provoked into overtaking the car doing 20 in the 60 section and the likes

And never, ever drive under the influence of drugs, be they recreational, prescription or even good old alcohol. Even just feeling under the weather or tired can have the same effect.

Sounds though like he's worked hard to get passed, so he hopefully will apreciate his licence more than the person who just passes cause they had to.

I nearly had a 1.8 Brava as my first car but the garage managed to run it empty of fuel then they couldn't get it re-started. Of course I was 20 by then, so insurance wasn't going to be quite so evil. Ended up with a 1.4 Ibiza which was good fun while it lasted.

i have history and downloadable content switched off, so it has to re-load the pics each time i visit the page. And given that we live in a rural area the download speed is only about 300kbps on a good day :(

but whatever, im not really that arsed, just wanted to point it out :p
