Right, Carl.... You want a purple and black car... cross between a hurse, KITT from knight rider and a Corsa.... this car isnt going to go down well. No wait a minute, you might aswell replace your aerial with a large pole with a wire on the end to look like a dodgem car. Ah well.

bit harsh but ok I'll stay away from the neons next is to get myalloys and badges sorted

It aint harsh Carl, but your ideas get more daft everytime you suggest something. Yes, going purple and black is different, but if you want to pull this off, you need to think real hard in what your doing. If I were in your shoes, id get some nice alloys, paint calipers in a dark purple. I wouldnt touch the grilles (well except painting them black so they match) leave the badges, or simply take them off. I would lower it but to be honest I really cant see what else that you can get purple to pull it off... I think the calipers would be a gr8 subtle touch... leave the rest of the car black. No neons...ANYWHERE, I would get purple footwell lights and thats all.... its the small things that make a big difference! (y)

And stop raiding ebay for all the cheap crap on there. Its worse than halfrauds.

Well i've got a fair bit of time to have a good think. then after Christmas it'll be a good wash, wax and polish then will get my calipers painted, get some blue sidelights and indicator bulbs (to go with my blue headlights), purple abarth style side stripes, alloys (gloss black with purple lip), something with my grill, purple badges, do something to brighten the footwell LEDs (will see about some longer superbrights or something) and then few other little things

have good news got some car stuff for crimbo (socket set, boot tidy etc) so will fit these and finish fitting my footwell leds at the weekend and will give the gp a wash, then get some cleaning stuff together as recommended by Andy Monty.

:yeahthat:

its been said so many times, lay off the cr*p on fleabay mate... save up and get ur rims

there arent any of the ones im getting in the uk yet apparently. the first shipment is meant to be this month according to the bloke i asked about them before crimbo.

im gonna ask again about the weight of 17s and see what they say and depending on the answer it will be 17" or 16" and will be getting them within the next month:)

ive got purple sidestripes on the way and the bloke is looking into making vimto logos for me.

i also have blue indicator and sidelight bulbs on the way.

should have gone for silver indicator bulbs if your going for black and purple theme. the blue will look out of place.

DO NOT get Vimto stickers, you will be the laughing stock of the world.

why does the weight matter? its only an 8v, theres not much you can do to make em fast anyway :p

i would definitely NOT go any smaller than 17" on a GP

which alloys did you settle on in the end? :)

i actually cant wait to see these vimto stickers, i hope they are big and funny looking.

i already have blue headlights so thought may as well go the whole hock.

ill see what he can do anyways and if i dont like them i dont have to have them or i could use them for sumut else

weight on the diff and gearbox. although i still need to way a standard steel.

its 17 id like but 16 if i cor have the 17s due to weight. although oz's are meant to be pretty light anyhow.

im getting OZ Michelangelo 8s.

for the vimto stickers the bloke said he would have a load of purple vinyl left over as he never uses it so he asked if i wanted any other stickers. i asked for them to be roughly 1"x4" i can then put them in my numberplate border if they look good:D

just as a little note...

a friend of mine had a Nova that was painted cadburys purple... he got a letter from them saying they were going to sue cos he also had stickers of the logo in various places

so yeah... vimto might not be too happy about you plastering thier name all over your mothers GP

also, what does your mum think to all this?! shes the one thats got to drive the thing!
