Introduction

Dont know if i did this image thing right...trying to do the photo thing!
Was very proud of this car for the whole 2 hours i drove it but i dont think it liked me.
The engine lol. It seized apparantly and only owned it for a couple of hours and 80 miles later.

still looking for an engine if anyone got one......

Ho no sorry to hear that mate, that's worse than mine, quite a few years ago i owned a little black mini (nephew nicknamed it the taxi lol) had it a few hours and the exhaust fell off - ha..

Hope you manage to gt an engine for it mate and get it back on the road soon. Good luck (y)

Can you not take it back i mean two hours and a engine seizing is a bit of a let down.

Id tell you where to go :p If it was brought fine and siezes after then how is it their fault, obv. they could have mis-treated it but that comes with buying old 2nd hand cars  if you dont want problems buy a brand new car, atleast you get warranty :p

I believe you could get you money back on this, second hand or not I learnt the hard way when I was younger. Bought a brava tdi and 3 days later it destroyed it's engine, I thought I had no rights. I was so wrong, I could have taken the guy to the small claims court, 100% I would have won my purchase money back. Foolishly I thought sold as seen was a real term. No that's BS! - go to citizens advice bureau, then go from there. I strongly suggest you do not take everything you read on these forums as gospel - get face to face advice. Please I urge you go the legal route, small claims court doesnt even cost (well not anything significant).

Ive spoken to the bloke ive had the car off as someone else told me that as i bought the car off ebay and he has also sold a few other cars, then he could be classed as a trader. Told the bloke that i had spoken to citizens advice (which i hadnt) and that they said ive got to give him the oppurtunity to put it right. well as soon as citizens advice was mentioned he said no need to go down that route..... The compromise being, he has refunded me £300 which ive got to find an engine with. I accepted that as i thought it was fair. BUT Do you think i can find another engine now?!?!

Ive been looking for days now with no luck. Ive tried the local scrappy's that i know of, ive rang round the yell.com, And ive even resorted today to emailing almost everyone on ebay that has a punto breaking on the off chance they might be a scrappy and have one. No luck.

Any more ideas cause im pulling my hair out. I just want my car on the road

no no no. I did this it was hell of a job to get changed. Say that offer is not viable due to cost of the engine and the cost of fitting say £400. Say you returned to CAB and they advised you this was a common mistake to accept half hearted offers in this time of stress. Demand a full refund - get it an be happy the saga is over. let me detail my saga when I was 23.

Bought brava - 3 days later it died - had to get friend to tow it. Took it to garage and paid them to investigate - out come shagged. Called dealer, he offered after some debate to partially fund new engine. Enge cost over a grand, also had to hire and engine crane. Had no where to fit engine used afriends communal parking area, had to by new tools to do fitting, took 2 days with 4 of us working on it - had never done this type of work before. Fitted it would start, tow to fiat garage, fiat garage said it needs the orignal fuel pump to work - paid fiat 400 pound to change fuel pump. Car ran 3 weeks later car failed to run correctly. Took to deisel specialists - who found difference in the 2 years the engine were made needed a number of parts - result another 500 quid. So over 2 grange to fix it or I could have made one call when it died and got all my money back save 2 grand, and still got another car. DO NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT A REFUND please do this for your own sanity I implore you.

regards

I already accepted and sent him an email stating that have accepted blah blah and that will take no further action. a bit of a dumb thing to do as i should just get money back and buy another car.

car cost £500, not breaking the bank as such but it was all my christmas savings and a couple hundred overdraft to pay for it.

Ive found an engine though on a good note!! am arranging to buy it today and collect on sunday if all goes well!! I just hope i dont get ripped off with this as well and im asking for some guarantee with it cause if i get it fitted and it doesnt work i will not be impressed in the slightest. ill probably just laugh and go crazy
