Cinquecento My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting.

Introduction

Hi well, i only joined the forum just a few day ago because i purchased this little 1998 cinqu 1.1 sporting as my little project just purely as a runaround:Djust so i do not have to drive my 2.0 16v Espace about,

I am not quite sure what iam going to be doing to it its far from being a perfict cinqu and with lots of tlc i hope in time it will be,

Well it has a years ticket on it and i have it garaged and hope to get stuck in about it in the next few weeks with a good check over mechanically then a clean top to bottom and then one of my first jobs after this is to replace the Rocker cover Gasket as it running a little at the front and then and only then will i start to sex it up a little:eek:

Cheers Scuderia

p.s Anyone now if this Blue Metallic paint colour has a name???

Welcome to the joys of Cinquecento

These things are great fun and for little money can be turned into the car that FIAT should have sold in the first place

In the Cento section you will find every type of car from std to stupidly fast turbo charged versions

But there are a few things you can start with to enhance your fun. For example there is the legendary McKrich ecu chip that for the cost of a tank of fuel on most cars will get rid of the flat spot that you will have already found, increase fuel economy and give you more power(y)

Enjoy the ride

Hi Blu73 where's my medal lol,i don't think there is not a forum about that new members or at least members that are new to forums use the FAQ but i have to say they are a great source of information with out a doubt,

Re: My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting

Cheers GP14 & Blu:) i can assure it was not clean when i got it:eek: but lots of TLC and cleaning later it seems to have payed off, well i got the car up on the axle stands today and the wheels off ready to get the tyres off this week to let work commence on the prepping before painting:D,

Still have the body work to t-cut and polish and then the glass to clean and slick the trim up and that will be the cleaning side of it completed and then i can get down to servicing it including the t-belt then i can start to sex it a little:devil:

Cheers Scuderia

Re: My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting

Hi well i have managed to get the cinqu all cleaned t-cut and polished up and all the trim treated and the glass polish cleaned and i have to say it looking way better than it did when i got it,

I have it on axle stands and the wheels off cleaned up and sanded down as i have had a change in heart and iam now getting them white powder coated and should have them back the week after next,i have bought a new set of pirelli P700 Z 165/55/13 tyres, i do release they have a smaller side wall then the ones fitted before i think they were 65 but thats what i was looking for:),

Now iam on the look out for a 30-35mm lowering spring set iam not changing the shocks or dampers but iam fitted a new set of stock shocks and dampers as the old ones are a bit on the wore side,

Any one recommend a cheap good spring:D cheers all the best

Re: My Metallic Blue 1998 Cinquecento 1.1 Sporting

Update

Hi all:)

No pics iam afraid, well should have the wheels back early next week as i you know they are away getting white powder coated so i will take some pics when i get them back and get the tyres on and take a few pics for you,

Well i have a little more done from i last spoke to you all i have the front struts out and have got the springs clamped and got the top strut bearings all took off and cleaned up and all set to one side ready for the new stock struts and front 35mm lowering springs when i get them,

I also got the rear shocks off and springs down out also and the wheel arches all cleaned up and all the crud removed, there is a few places that could well be doing with a little touch up with wheel arch paint just to keep things looking good and to stop the rust from setting in,

I have also got the front driver side wheel arch liner removed and the cooling fan and housing removed in preparation for doing the timing belt, but other than this thats about it,cheers all the best.
