Aye thanks for that

It actually seems to have settled a bit now so isn't quite so bad but thinking 30mm would be a good drop. There's a bit of rubbing at the front under full lock though, how good an idea is it to remove the arch liners?

Re: '00 Seicento Sporting

So, what began as a simple case of re-furbing the above alloys has grown arms and legs and sprouted into a full blown colour-coding project, which I have to say I am not only looking forward to the end result but am also loving the project itself.

The original plan was to switch the centre badges for FIAT ones, and then paint the wheel silver again after filling in all the scuffs with the central star in yellow. The star was the first thing I did just to make sure I liked the idea.

Which I did, very much

Then, after a few beers and a conversation with Helz, I asked Mr Pill to knock me up a PS (thank you kind Sir), from which the following occured ...

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of not letting the yellow paint dry for long enough on this one before masking off for the blue, so upon removal of the tape I also took a few bits of yellow paint with it
I also noticed that the masking tape left a lot of sticky residue, wasn't cheap stuff either so I can only assume that was something to do with the heat as I'd left the wheels to dry in the sun after spraying

Before anyone says anything, the tyres are gash anyway so will be getting changed hence why I wasn't fussed about getting paint on them, I've also sourced some yellow valves on e-bay for pennies which'll be getting stuck in too

Re: '00 Seicento Sporting

Having had to give the dual-12" sub box and amps back to my brother when he got his Golf back on the road I've been suffering with a lack of tunes in the Sei for a wee while now.

But no longer!! Ordered a few days ago and received today:

Boss CX650 4x100wRMS Amplifier

I also got a Boss Outlaw L12 1000wRMS 12" Subwoofer a while back but I want the Outlaw amplifier that matches it which is only available in the US so will hopefully be able to order that next month if everything goes well.

Then it's just a case of making the box for the sub and getting everything wired in

Edit: More pictures!

It was an Infinity amp but no idea which model as it was only a borrowed set-up, tbh sound quality was pretty poor but they were loud! As for the exhaust, it's got a nice note at low revs and sings quite nicely as you build up the revs. I know I've been saying it for ages but as the weather is nice I might get a vid up shortly

Re: '00 Seicento Sporting

18 months since I updated this so I'll start at the beginning:
  • August '09 - Lost job so was trying not to put too many miles in the car unless I really had to.
  • November '09 - Moved down to Huddersfield, oil pressure light came on as I was passing Manchester and clutch was slipping most of the way.
  • March '10 - With help from Andy Monty got the clutch changed and oil and filter and spark plugs done - there wasn't much oil left in there hence the low pressure.
  • April '10 - Back to work and got it MOT'd, considering the small amount of work and the fact it'd been sitting for almost 7 months hardly moving the only flaw was the handbrake (cable replaced) and the drivers side tie rod end (replaced).
  • October '10 - Finally got around to fitting temperature gauge I'd bought ages ago, and since the coolant was being drained anyway fitted a new header tank purely for aesthetics
I was starting to fall out of love with it as it's clonking and rattling like a beast but clock34 was round a few weeks back (thanks again btw ) to help me out with a brake overhaul that didn't need doing, lol. Realised the tyres were on the limit so they're getting done next week. Clock34 also pointed out that the clonking is likely to be worn bushes, and that the dampers are starting to get a bit too rusty for comfort (to be expected at 10yrs old!).

So, going to order some Strongflex bushes - possibly this month depending on what kind of pay I get next week, otherwise March. Then order a lowering kit of some kind - nothing crazy, 30-40mm maybe, and hopefully get the 14's finished that I've been working on for like 2 years!!!

Got calipers and adaptors for the rear so may do that once everything else is all sorted but we'll see ...

Re: '00 Seicento Sporting

Nope, lol. Still plenty to do but I'm not rushing as I can't get them on the car until I can afford tyres for them anyway, and as it stands right now I need new tyres on the standard alloys right now so that'd more of a priority
