My Stilo 2.4 Abarth Selespeed :)

Well, having decided that the Mondeo was now getting past it, decided to take the plunge and buy a Stilo in addition to the Ulysse purchased new last year.

Today I purchased [and tomorrow at 5.30pm picking up] a 5 door '02 plate Stilo 2.4 Abarth Selespeed. 16k on the clock, 2 main dealer services [last one 4 weeks ago], tread on all tyres, black leather interior, Nav+ ,etc, in a light metallic green colour.

First time I had driven a Selespeed, and seemed very impressed, albeit know it is going to take some time to get used to.

Can't wait for first play tomorrow evening, with pics to follow.

Still need to sort out SatNav disks, though ;)

good choice m8. pity it was`nt a 3 door. the gearbox is great, shouldnt take too long to get used to it. after playing with mine for a while i now leave it permanently in manual mode. i find this gives you a bit more control over what is happening.
enjoy.

I know, the 3 door was my preferred choice, tbh. After all, this is the fun car and not the family car....

Still, it had everything else going for it, and I think the mrs will prefer the extra usefulness of the 5 doors IF she goes out with the kids [in various car seats].

Nice one Stuart! You'll be able to frighten a few hot hatch owners with that. Get some pictures up when you collect it. :)
I already did that on the test drive, lol, as I pulled out then pulled away from this hot hatch behind me on the dual carriageway. It is a bit of a street sleeper, especially in 5 door guise.

Just noted that 0-60 time about 8.5 seconds. I will start having to trawl through the Stilo forum to pick up some useful hints n tips :)

Cheers guys ;)

Just had a quick look at the insurance, before I phone up Bell Direct tomorrow to change policy details
Did a quick quote for me only, no points declared, came out at about £391. Now just have to add the spouse and points :( - hopefully not a major increase, and it does renew end of September.

Not bad for a group 14 car....

Nice one Stu - looking forward to the piccies as not seen a 5 door Abarth yet.

Is this the light metallic green you're getting? If it is, it's Crystal Green,

Yep, I think it is that colour!

Picking it up tonight at 5.30pm, having sorted out insurance - only an extra £27 to change cover, can't be bad, although renewal due end of September.

Is there anything I need to look out for when I pick it up? I know it comes with the two keys, and all the manuals and the code card if I recall. I may give my local FIAT dealer a ring, to confirm the warranty continues for another 11 months [ie 3years overall] - how do I go about transferring this to myself?

What about the Connect system? I see there is a slot for a card, which I presume is for the SIM which I will supply myself.

What about setup disks? Again, nothing really evident in the glovebox.

Still, very excited, as you can imagine :)

i may be of some help re the phone m8. i put a post up before i got mine with regards to this. the best way to do this is to have your main mobile on a contract, and your car phone on pay as you go. that way you can set up your main phone to divert calls when unreachable to your car phone number. all you have to do then is switch off your mobile when in the car and calls will be diverted to your car phone. this also means you only have to give out one number to people. hope that makes sense.
the car should come with 2 discs. one is the set up disc for languages etc. the second and most important is the map disc which must be inserted for it to work.

lol we were just talking about these over at PSC

Did you know Novitec do a supercharger kit for it at 5000 euros? :D

Woo hoo :D :D :D :p

What a great car, just got out of it since picking it up at 6ish this afternoon.

The first fun 'n' games was when I came back to the car after filling it with petrol - I suppose I should have read the Selespeed instruction manual first  .

But since then, I have had a load of fun. I especially like the changing down to 4th at 100mph  , hmmm. That engine really does burble at idle, as well.

My only downside is that it does not come with an Autochanger - I will have to look through the Stilo section, I suppose. Are there any particular models I need to look out for, and how easy is it to fit in?

I think I have a few options on it - black leather, alarm, BUT no xenons.

HOWEVER, bit worried that I have no code card, and this is not at the non-fiat dealer I bought it from. I will get onto my local FIAT dealer in the morning and see what they say. Hopefully can be replaced?!

Stu

EDIT - Pics up tomorrow hopefully :)
