H2ypr hits the 1/4

Been out and about at the 1/4 mile recently.

Went to crail on sunday and thought i'd post the results.

Oh an btw, for anyone thinking that a turbo cento can do 13's, this is a must see post. This is copied directly from the fccuk.

Great day even though the trip to crail was a bit of a mare.

Firstly, 15 miles from crail i broke down Car just cut out and wouldnt start. Seemed like a fuel problem, so thought the fuel cut off may have tripped. Hit the button (after i phoned mattb for clarification on where it was) but no change. Mattb suggested because the tank had been dropped to change the rear ARB, the connector may have been on incorrectly. Fiddled with all the connectors etc and it started

Drove to crail and jumped out to get cash, but cash machine wouldnt take my card

Eventually i got cashback on chewing gum and jumped in the car and again it wouldnt start

Tried the same "fiddling" but it didnt work. So investigated further and realised the main feed to the relay for the wiring mod was disconnected from the relay. The spare wheel was sitting on the cable and it pulled itself outta the terminal.

So forced it back into the terminal as a temp fix and it started. Carefully got to the airfield and parked up. Got there and got a set of crimps.

All fixed.

hardly a must see post but cool all the same. just figured i'd respond to that as its a blatant dig at me. when i mentioned cinq doing 13 secs, i was quoting the guy at 1320 (im useless with names have forgotten now) who reckoned if he was driving (he's used to launching big power r5 gtt's etc) he could get the cinq low 14's and maybe nip a v high 13.

i dont have a clue about strip stuff other than to say all the times my car posted 1/4 mile wise were run on a standard clutch, and as i got the car sorted and problems addressed the car wouldnt boost on std clutch just slipped. and after that it got 1242'd etc as well.

anyway looks a good time

I remember when I had my coupe I tried to get it on the elvington airstrip but they had cancelled the event, was really gutted i never got to test it out "properly"

Yeah it is short

Yeah understandable you thought it was. Tbh, i didnt have a clue about 1/4 mile, but once u start looking into it, and looking at power outputs etc etc, you can start to work out whats possible. I reckon a 2ltr clio and a turbo cinq would be on par at the 1/4 mile. And thats about 15's for both.
