Which dealer U got in leics slimgimli.
The 1 I knew in leicester is not there now - has leicester got a dealer at the mo if so where? Fiat dealer locator thingy out of date.

Hi ms cinq,

There is a new fiat dealer at Nissans in leics, but i'm not going there as i live on the leics/northants border.Wewent to Rockingham cars in Corby they do Fiat and Mazda, went in just to look before the launch and met a great saleman there. They didnt have any new ones on show as it was before the launch but he took us round the back where they were hiding which I thought was brilliant.
Went back for a test drive on the off chance and he took me out in a 1.4 sport which was great. So have just been and ordered mine this morning, 1.2 lounge in yellow.
Once again the salesman was brilliant, which to me is part of buying a car whether new or second hand, you want to know that you are being looked after and cared about.
Will see how the whole process pans out but so far its 100% which to me matters!!

I agree about the sunroof too. We've ordered the 'fixed' roof for our 1.4 Sport. My current car is a Megane 3dr with the Panoramic glass roof. It looks good open on the Megane, but the annoying thing is the rattle the glass roof makes. Even when it's closed the roof rattles. I also know a couple of Mini owners with panoramic glass roofs which rattle. Whish is why we picked the fixed roof for our 500.
We went to our dealer at Clemo in Cleckheaton, W.Yorks today to see how far along the order was. We placed the order on 26 Jan and was told then that eta should be around 22 April. The dealer I spoke to today (as our salesman was with another customer), said that it'd probably be towards end of April anyway cos of the options we've ordered.

He knew we'd ordered the red leather interior and offered to show us a white Lounge that'd just come in for a previous order, which had the red leather.

I must say , the leather looked fab, and not too bright either, more of a darkish red.Felt nice too.

We asked this salesman about the storage compartment under the front passenger seat and the 'hidden' document drawer under the dash, but he didn't know they existed. I told him they are shown near the back of the 500 brochure. Anyway, he had a fiddle around with the seat and the dash, and lo and behold, he found them. He didn't know about the dead cat that was on their forecourt last Thursday night either. So far, I'm pretty happy with the service we've had from Clemo. We've also got a 2001 Seicento Sporting with the Abarth kit, and Clemo have aways been helpful and reasonably priced when we've needed to get parts for it. Roll on end of April...

Popped into the new London showroom today, was not impressed, looks like a set from Blakes 7, wtf has it got to do with Fiat and the 500? Girls were nice though, but didnt have a clue about the cars, as someone was asking easy questions:) Bought a little model of my 500 though:) I think it needs someone who actually understands Fiat as a company to redesign it, honestly thought it was naff there:(

Thats a shame as I thought it was really GREAT!! I agree the girls were rubbish and that I knew more than them but there were 'proper' salesmen there if you wanted more details or actually to order a car!! Liked the bits and bobs they had for sale but resisited, got to save all my money for the car:)

Thing was, the salesroom just looked really cheap and had nothing to do with Fiat, just a weird theme to it. I thought it was supposed to be selling all Fiats, the posters at Bond Street tube seemed to imply that. I was expecting more from Fiats flagship dealer showroom:(

By contrast, I once went into a showroom in Wroclaw, Poland that was far more impressive... that was in 2004.

The blurb did say it would be on 2 floors and as it only opened last week maybe it isnt quite finished yet and they are just concentrating on the 500's at min as they are new, it was busy on saturday with loads of people coming in seeing the 500 and ordering one there and then!! I found it fascinating watching them and could have spent hours in there just people watching, but each to their own, sort of know what you mean by the blake 7 thing but I liked the fact it was sooo different!! maybe i'm just sad lol

LOL, no youre not sad, I was just expecting loads of Fiats and accessories to buy and the like, maybe a history of Fiat display, that sort of thing. I could have spent a day with the girls though:)
Was nice to see someone fitting the rear number plate properly on the azure one, using the existing holes he was... top man!

lol have already mentioned the number plate fitting to my salesman!! so hopefully mine should be fitted ok but apparrently it depends where the letters etc are on the plate?? as long as its put on straight thats the main thing for me!! Glad you liked the girls btw think they helped add a few sales by the way the men were drooling as they signed the orders :p

I mentioned it to mine too... I bet we both get plates with four more holes drilled in the tailgate though:) and wonky! I do hope the girl I bought the little model from didnt notice my eyes heading south too much... she was seriously showing some cleavage:)

Maybe they did it like that just so they could put the sprayed lycra girls in there!! sorry didnt take much notice of the cleavage but all the men were smitten:p
Just to show my ignorance why are there holes already in the back but not where the front plate goes? Also altho I realise less holes the better but would it be a disaster if they do drill more holes at the back? its something I have never thought about before!

I'm going to request for my plates to put on with double sided tape. I'm going to be putting chrome surrounds on when I put my personal plates on and will sort out my plates with double-sided sticky pads. Don't want more holes being drilled in my car!

I too don't understand why the front isn't drilled but the rear is.

Do you know Tom, no it's not, sorry mate (what do you mean better looking, is that possible):p

Friends of me & the good lady wife, he does about 12,000 miles a year in it, uses it as it was ment to be used.

Local to Bristol are they??? :D I've always wanted friends with a ferrari, are they open to accepting new friends......:D

Perhaps i should bring my 500 over (collecting march 1st btw, although its ready now), position it on the other side of the f1, for an italian sandwich photo type thing....?
