Punto S type RIP

This was supposed to be a culmination of the work on the s type. But today the crankshaft snapped

Jami I'm assuming its because it will just break again, the 1.2 16v was never made to withstand that much power.

I'm impressed to see the 1.2 16v crank hold up against the supercharger for as long as it did

I say turbo the bugger next

Yeah I agree Turbo Blower next, Tell me if I'm wrong but it should be less strain on teh crank?.

Yes it was . If it was forged it would have coped I recon but then again what I know about engine tuning is f*** all compared to him .

My guess would be yesh.

I'd fix the bugger and get some sort of an uprated crank specced up.

Costs but i'm sure enough will have been plowed into this already to just bin it.

I reckon it'll be worth rebuilding and modifying a new crank. So much work has gone into to it, it seems a shame to just let it die.

Would a tuftrided/nitrided, crossdrilled, knifed and balanced crank be strong enough I wonder?
