errr.. i try to be constructive but i'm gonna have to say almost what has been said before me.

pleasse stop now and research the techniques required to actually do this job. as there is a lot of prep work before the respray. ie fit, check, recheck, fit, cut, check, recheck, cut, check etc,

fair play to you though but your gonna have some huge spacers in there, might be worth going for a rim that has the spokes right to the edge to makie the wheel look that bit bigger.

in terms of the lights, you'll come around to subtle clusters with an over powering body kit

the spoiler will ruin the lines, go for an abarth spoiler it will go well with that rear bumper.

good luck, and i kow it doesn't seem it but we are here to help where we can!

oh and please tell me its off the road until you finish it otherwise its gonna be amagnet for abuse and vandalism.

there is a lot more work that you think on your hands fromt the second you strated using screws to hold the kit on the car is a write off for any other perpose the kits isnt fitted proply and i dont think you thought this threw(n) strip the rear arches and re fit them before you make a mess of thing atm it looks like a jumbo jet(not:cool:) your car will need to be off the road for a very long time now till it is resprayed very expensive time ahead of you(n)

take a look at my thread "Project Banger in non fiat members motors that has so far taken me nearly 7 months in my spare time;)

from the start you have screwed something up jus put it in the body shop it will be done in a week

otherwise the outcome may not be so pleasing

sorry to be so harsh just a spot of thruth for you

what ever way you go good luck(y)

OMG.

Congratulations on giving it a go and having the enthusiasm to get on with your project.

Hopefully a bodyshop can sort out the refilling of the kit for you, it will be worth the money in the long run. What did you attach the kit to the body with? Ideally you need an pu adhesive like tiger seal but the paint around the arches should have been removed before you blend the edges, the filler on the edges is likely to crack. If you're going for a pro paint job, all your money will be wasted because of the poor fitting and prep.

Oh and keep these photos away form *********, they'll have a field day.

OK easy with the witch hunt guys, folks on here might not like everyones car but they don't spell it out they just keep it too themselves or say it in a more restrained manner.

I hardly think we're setting this poor kid up for an early demise, but he has after all bolted a wide arch kit straight onto his car with wood screws (backwards).

i can see the rear arches dont fit at all, but are they really the wrong way around? i cant imagine they'd fit either way., it wouldnt be my first choice in mods but i cant blame you for trying, it should look alright if you get the rear arches sorted out,. i hate them rear lights though, never liked them at all., and an abarth spoiler will look better, aswell as DTM style mirrors, those ones are too wide for the look of the car.,

Well, that was a interesting read. thanks for everyones replies and im glad people have said they dont like the way it looks cos at the end of the day not everyone likes a certain something, but honnestly do you think im thick or something. the pictures i uploaded of the bodykit were only tester images none of the kit was made for the fiat punto appart from the front and back bumper so i have to remake the kit to suit my idea and how i want it to look on the car. the kit was fitted to the car for my to work out where parts need to be changed or redone to get the look im looking to get. moving on to the back arch, yes you are right it is the wrong way round, and its the wrong way around for a reason. as you see in the picture the front arch plends into the car but on the back arch it doesn't its flat and looks horrid from behind, and was never intended to look like that but the is how that arch is made for another kit. the back arch will be cut and remoulded to look like the front arch so that when my new bigger back bumper comes it will join into the back bumper. but the front of the back arch which goes into the car and the sideskirts will stay and will have a part cut out of it to give a vent type impression and at the top of that will be a door moulding which will work its way down the car like a spike type thing. in my head i have a plan but properly in yours you can see something totally different and yes to you it properly looks rubbish, but doesn't everything when work first starts on them.

Was expecting an abusive reply to be honest in what has been said, however fair play and respect for coming back with a fairly decent answer and explanation :) (y)

thanks, was already going to do that, but that wont be for a while yet as im still working on remaking the arches and other things

Re to Dave: At First i was going to get the Diablo Wide Arch bodykit but i wasn't that fussed on the whole look of the bodykit its self, and being me i like a challenge and wanted to make something a bit wider and a look that hadn't been done on the punto before

Re to Apple: Thanks, I Believe everyone has their own personal opinion and believes and i dont take things to heart that easily. just use others opinions to improve on your own

wide arches? maybe on my classic mini but not on a punto!
its still a 60bhp 1.2 and always will be!

love the rear lights - very "different" as you put it.

it was best standard. the world needs more genuine 1 owner from new cars like yours was before you bought it.

Dunno i quite like whats going on with the front arches. I would like to see what you have planned for the rear though. Have you decided on a colour for the car yet or is that still in planning, wheels??? I know with time ideas change though lol
Only one problem erm... Front head light covers??? Please say you aint keeping them lol

Keep it up anyway mate!

Classic mini is still only 750cc - 1275cc standard...so its not far off a punto.

Mini's and punto's can both have engine conversions/mods so ther in the same boat really. So it might not alway be a 1.2.

But minis do really suit the wide arch....IIRC....Curley CF wide archs:worship: :worship: :worship:

You wanna do it mate, go for it! Its that or copy everything else . Read through a coupla the comments above there's some gems of wisdom there.
Me, I'd say, hows your photoshop skills? I'd spend a few days and weeks getting a shop of how you want it to look. Might help with future decisions.
Good luck. ;)

Oh and if you're are doing summat oddball clearly explain what you are up to as you go. It'll stop the 'it'll all end in tears' brigade getting in their stride.
