much better than the lucozade bodge!

Will update when the engine bay is all "blued up"

alright adam, long time no see! looks good mate, is that an ice cream tub holding it up? :chin: i love your wheels, wish i had a set of them ;).

The car has come on so much from when i first saw it when i came to get those cinq lights off you!

Might be at the next Ace but unfortunately couldnt make the last one as ive got a problem of £20 to last me 3 weeks!! and it costs me about £10+ in fuel to Ace!

Tell you what though - the noise it makes is unbelievably good

Wait till you get the 40mm tb on :D

Is it a 2 part kit? eg, are there 2 hoses? i notice the jubilee clip in the middle. If it is, could you not turn the hose off the TB towards the front of the engine bay about 30 degrees and then tilt the other hose so it tilts backwards into the place where the filter is?

That way the hose wont go up and over the fusebox but will go around it :)... although if its a 1 piece kit then what I said is pointless heh, you could cut the silicone though and use a joining pipe (y)

yeah it's a 2 part kit. I'll have a go at the weekend, at the same time as I get the hose clips and fit the TB...

the only bad thing about the TB is it looks no different to the standard...

that looks cool,
like bushboy said if you could get it around the fuse box that would aide the aesthetics.

also i don't if this is true, but i'm sure i read on here that those breather filters won't get through an mot cos it needs to feedback into the induction kit.

can't wait to here the feedback on the 40mm TB and what the results are from it.

I have had an MOT with it fitted

the only reason they tend not to pass the MOT is because its brings the emissions up. It isnt illegal to run a seperate filter as long as it passes the emissions test (y)

The 40mm TB wont look MUCH different, just the fact that the bore in the centre will look alot bigger! the gold butterfly thing in the middle is noticably bigger too!

it looks a lot bigger there - just when it's fitted and the induction bob is bolted on you can't tell the 2 apart... not big, shiny and "look at me I've got a 40mm hole"...

When babz had her MOT done the guy told us he was skepical when he saw the filter but passed it as it didnt fail the emissions which is what they were told to make sure. Not having the gasses recirculate throws the emissions off apparently but because its still passed then there was no reason to fail it.

"look at me I've got a 40mm hole"...

thats one for the FF quote book!

i know when i took my car into the garage to get the HG done when he tried to drain the oil it can out really slow, he removed the filter and it just gushed out. he says there is little point in them as they often restrict more than anything. the one i fitted wasn't cheap branded one either. if it was better for your car then surely GSR would do it that way rather than creating the special bob with the breather hose running into it - or is that for MOT reasons so he doesn't get come back.
