well i fancied a new project as the unos dragging on now and to be honest its nearly there. i'll always be doin stuff to it tho and i'll always be buying bits for it but in the mean time ive got myself another project.

needed a run about to get me back and forth to the garage ive just got for the uno, always wanted a renault 5 gt turbo, and always wanted a van. so i bought this.......





its a Renault Extra, which is basicly a Renault 5 with a van on the back. its a 1.4 petrol and cost me a whole £160.

ive now started buying a few bits for it

GT turbo clocks




GT Turbo Steering wheel


GT Turbo front calipers


GT Turbo fuel pump


GT Turbo Koni adjustable front shocks


and a dump valve and fitting kit ive had knocking about off the uno hehe


now all the above items ive picked up mega mega cheap hehe. im currently waiting for the 2 items below to arrive

GT Turbo Scorpion exhaust same as whats on my uno, will have to get the centre section lengthened cos its goin on a van


and a set of 15" compomotives in white hehe, same as what on the uno lol



well, there you have it peeps! just on the look out now for a 5 turbo engine complete and im not far off there as the van is a 1.4 petrol, ive spoke to ian at euro parts who knows his stuff when it comes to 5 turbos, and he's told me the 5 turbo engine will drop in on the 1.4 engine mounts, the drive shafts on the van are the same and the wiring loom is almost the same just a few bits i need to add. i can also use the van petrol tank too hehe! so its an easy conversion!

hehe, nah, already got a UT so want a different engine to work on! one UT lumps enough lol

should be a laugh anyway! plus, theres some BIG power mods out there for the 5 turbo lump

lol sorry mate, but to be honest, im a renault man at heart, then a ford man. only fiats i like are uno turbos and punto gt's lol

had 1.2 clio, 1.4 clio, clio with a gt turbo engine, clio 16v and now the van soon to be gt turbo'd

still love my unos tho mate, but u gotta admit, 5 turbos are just as mint! as long as its old skool and turbo's for me, im happy!

Have to disagree here, they are ace little engines and if they are looked after they go forever, they got a bad name but thats cause loads are bought adn thrashed by people and sold on and not cared for. People say the same to me when i say i want a nissan 200sx s13 but my mum had one and the engine was indestructable if you serviced it, its just finding that elusive good engine to start with.

Btw Dunc, my mate in yorkshire has an R5 turbo that needs its engine rebuilding but it has lots of goodies on it, if you need any bits i'll see if i can get them off him for you. I warn you though, although i know and everyone else who nows him knows he isn't ever gonna fix it and get it running again, he thinks he will (just like the last 4 cars that eventually ended up getting scrapped) so he might not wanna get rid of bits. But might be able to get some stuff off him if i have words so just let me know.

hehe cheers mate, will soon find out! pick it up a week today! its totally rust free and its very clean for a van, so im confident! not fussed if the engines a bit crappy as its coming out anyway!

ive got some good plans for this van hehe, just hope it doesnt end up faster than my uno lol!
