Gotta love seeing the MPG readout with a number above 50mpg on it

I was planning on picking up a Punto Sporting but from experience I can say that doing 500+miles a week in a Punto can get uncomfortable. You just sink into these seats... sooo comfy

(I like these posts btw... even if you don't like the car, it's nice to know people can actually look past the badge )

Yeh renault arent the worst car manufacturer in the world, i do hate ford and everything they stand for though, ****e everythignm about their cars and modern cars rust just as badly as their old ones, no concept of making their cars to last with experience of customer complaints, ignorance. lol

Anyway so do you have plans for this car?

Only a remap at some point. Several sites state anywhere between 35 and 50bhp gain, and upto 90Nm of torque gained... so if I do that I may do a slight brake upgrade (standard brakes are good though) and I may end up getting some bigger wheels, 16's maybe. the standard wheels are 15's.

Coilovers are also an option, but it corners and rides rather nicely at the minute (that may be partially due to coming from a Punto with comical handling, to a Megane that corners with very little bodyroll).

Oh... a new gearknob too... the leather has peeled slightly from this one

Plenty of members have posted their non fiat vehicles, myself included.

Just because they dont own a fiat anymore doesnt mean they arent still valued members of the forum. They still can offer great knowlegeable posts. Helpmeonfire has been a valued member for ages.

You maybe get away with that on other forums but not on this one, the only thing standing between you and a ban is the fact that help hasn't sunk to your level and decided to report you.

This isn't the beginning of an arguement just the end of the matter now you know some of the rules I suggest you go and read the rest

Forgot to add I learnt to drive in a renault megane diesel as thats what my driving instructor had (obviosuly) both this model and the newer shape on sale now

There was a slower 1.9 diesel IIRC put in that megane but youve gone for the better one.

It was however prone to a faulty steering column. Keep your eye on that.

Other than that i couldnt really fault it.

Its crying out for a cd player is yours though

It's got a 6CD changer in the boot

Well it's a Renault, past family experince of the Laguna was erm its ****
Looks okay, sounds like it's pretty nippy, gets you there, what more can you want?

To be honest I thought the mk1 megane wasn't too bad looking, was thinking of getting a 1.6 sport myself it's just the front grille I don't like on this car, but other than that a decent non-fiat choice

I have to admit I'm not too keen on the front end myself, but it's grown on me a lot. My mums friend had a 1.6 sport and loved it, she highly recommends Meganes. As do I in my short period of ownership so far.
