As is often the way with me,I have bought stuff but not much has happened to the car.

I got a set of the factory option fog lights, they need sanding and painting and fitting at some point.

I've got and actually fitted a Cusco c-pillar brace.

I've got a whiteline rear ARB kit which I don't seem to have any pictures of.

There's probably more stuff I'm not recalling atm too. Generally speaking though I've not really done much bar keeping it clean and maintained. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with cars in general at the mo. I might keep the Ignis and crack on with fitting all the many parts amassed and getting a boring family wagon. But I'm also tempted to sell it and then buy an actual nice and quick estate car to replace it that would also be a decent family car for going away.

And here's just a few random pics of it..

Those last 2 pics are at an Ignis meet - pretty random seeing mine next to a stock suspension one, never realised how much lower it was until i got to park next to a standard one lol

Can you see anything through your rear window?
Chopping and changing cars always gets expensive when I try it. Have you just got Iggy and the 100hp now?

Re: Blu's Suzuki Ignis Sport

People always say that, and yes i can see through the window perfectly fine - the rear brace is more of an obstruction that any of the stickers

And yep, currently just got the 100hp and the Ignis. I rarely use the Ignis since Ede was born though tbh, her car seat doesnt fit at all easily and has to go in the back cause you cant turn the passenger airbag off in the Ignis - well you can by just unplugging the airbag controller but if you do that the seatbelt pretensioners wouldnt work in the event of a crash - added to this she is in a rear facing seat still cause she is small its just awkward. And its not hugely comfy with the coilovers etc etc. Its only insured for 5k miles a year atm and i doubt i'll even do that in it. But it does make me smile still everytime i drive it

Re: Blu's Suzuki Ignis Sport

Don't really have much to report on the Iggy, it's passed its MOT with no advisories since I last posted. Nothing mechanical has changed.

But there has been one significant change to the car.... There is now a lack of stickers. And no, it's not cause I couldn't see - I just started to get bored of them and fancied a cleaner look.

So as that is the only real update I'll just post a selection of pics from last few months instead.

Good to see it's still going! Looks great

My Suzuki is still on the road but the advisory list on the last mot suggests soon the game will be over!

Re: Blu's Suzuki Ignis Sport

Yes the MOT tester actually commented how good it is and that its cleaner underneath than most 'new' cars he tests. That'll be all the undercarriage jet-washing lol. To be fair though it really doesnt do many miles, only 2.5k between the last 2 MOTs lol.

Re: Blu's Suzuki Ignis Sport

Well I guess this needs an update.

Car now has everything poly bushed at the front, a mix of powerflex and superpro bushings.
It has nagisa fender braces
Type 1 and 2 front lower braces

Happy with the results, the fender braces in particular have made a huge difference, way more than I expected, makes me feel a little better about how much they cost lol

And also has a set of what the Ignis people call Joey mod headlights, basically opened and housings sprayed satin black, which I have since restored with a 3m kit and ceramic coated to protect them.

While I had the front off I did the aircon delete, it's not worked for years and I haven't really missed it so thought may as well save the weight. Actually not as much weight as I expected, didn't weigh it but all the bracketry was aluminium so really wasn't all that heavy. But with that out you could see a slam panel support and the manifold heat shield through the grill and it looked messy, so they've had a coat of flat black paint too.

Don't worry, I've had that exact question alot since i fitted them lol. They tie the a-pillar and suspension strut together to eliminate flex of the shell. Really didn't think it would make a huge difference but it really has. Its feels much more like the suspension is doing all the work and the front is more solid, hard to describe but its improved how it feels no end I've seen them fitted to few cars but never experienced them before, i know mx5 people rave about them for example. Thought I'd give it a go, i was feeling flush at the time when i bought them lol

Re: Blu's Suzuki Ignis Sport

So little update here.

The fake split rim studs on the wheels have been annoying me for a while, found some replacements on ebay, listed as for Rota wheels but thought i'd give them a bash.. They offer quite a few different colours but i went with gold to match the red. black and gold theme of the car.

They are just pressed in so to get old ones out was a simple as tapping from behind with a screwdriver and hammer. Then after trying to put several into my spare wheel to decide on the best technique i found the best (or best i tried) was to use a neoprene washer over it, then use a socket on an extension and a hammer to tap them in, used a bit of plusgas to help them go in easier. There's 30 per wheel and so far I've done 3 of the 4 wheels and only damaged one stud - ran out of washers is why i only done 3. I was hoping i could reuse a few but they all got mullered from the hammering. Got some more now so will do the other wheel soon.

Heres some before and after pics

And here is a little timelapse of one wheel, 40mins condensed into 35seconds lol - actually a much bigger job than this video makes out. Although the other 2 I've done were quicker without my daughter 'helping'.
