...1988 mk1 mr-2! recently bought it off a bloke i know for £200 and thought even if its a wreck once i get it to bits its worth a punt as i could make most of that back scrapping or breaking it. So here it is as i bought it

all the front end is bolt on/off panels so fairly easy too work on for a newb like me. my plans are for a full chassis rebuild for now as the engine is a minter have stripped off the front end and sideskirts and tbh its not looking too bad at all theres alot more stripping to be done but so far it looks like the biggest job is going to be re-welding the rear quarters and arches as it looks like someone has done a filler job now ive got all the crap off new sills are also needed and the rest does need a bit of attention in the odd place but looks like i have a good base to start from.
For the time being it will be going back to standard bar a respray in white or a gunmetal type im thinking at the moment and in the future the mk2 2L turbo lump looks like an option but that will be a while away.

will upload more pics when i have time to take them off my phone as its a pain in the ass and update regular if people are intrested not that i expect too much enthusiasm on a fiat website
£200?! spend anoher couple hundred and you could have a really nice show/track car or even just keep it as a run around!

well £230 lol managed to get him down from £300

another couple of hundred is a bit of wish full thinking lol the panels needed come to over that alone and thats with out the respray lol
i have lots of big plans but the main is to get the chassis sorted or all the work im planning would be pointless imo. think its going too be my summer toy and garaged in the winter months to keep it nice and salt free lol tracked orientated is the plan for the future tho :D

cheers for the comments everyone

have checked the wheeler dealer thing out, and picked up a few decent points worth thinking about but im planning a much better over haul of her, just filling the arches doesnt feel right to me for one

cheers again for the heads up

Nice little project you've got there, a guy i used to work with had one of the rarer supercharged versions.......was well cool! Good luck with it(y)

cheers id have loved that version but as you said rarer and often in good condition and i fancied a project but as i said mk2 2L turbo is on the horizon :D if all goes to plan that is lol

Yeah, that exactly! Was looking at one myself, if I could get away with squeezing another car on the driveway ;)

that was my problem my poor gps has been relegated to the road side lol
