Thanks
I've wanted a Type R since the day i passed my driving test 3 years ago. This time next year i will have one once i get another years no claims and age a bit more. My mate has a black one, and so does PuntoKris on here. They look great in black but i've always had a soft spot for the silver.

Got any plans for it?

GruppeM induction kit would suit it down if you have a spare £500.

I had the Gruppe M for about a day, the gains were noticeable in VTEC but the noise was so stupid I sold it. I paid £300 used, back when they could be had for around £470 new. Now they are over £600 due the value of the Japanese Yen over the Sterling.

To live with it is very satisfying, it excels in most categories including handling, acceleration, fuel (I average 34MPH), looks, reliability, and modification availability. The one thing it isn't especially good at is long distance runs, I get a sore arse after a while, and it has little in the way of comforts e.g. cruise control, big comfy heated seats etc. But I bought it for nipping around and going to work in, something I enjoy as much today as I had when I first had an EP3 in April 2007 (this is my second).

Oh and no timing belt to worry about :)

Insurance @ group 17 is never going to be cheap, I am currently with MoreThan paying £400 with 0 points and 6 years NCB.

Thanks for the comments.

That does look very nice, I must admit this shape took a while to grow on me but on the type-R's it looks better with the subtle bodykit.

Interior looks nice too - I've never driven one but it would be interesting to see what that strange gearshift felt like!

Gearshift is right where it should be, for quick gearchanges, almost touring car style. Honestly, you get used to it straightaway, and reaching down to change gears in other cars just doesn't feel right.

£400?

I pay a hell of a lot more than that on a group 3 car with 2 yr no claims

Thanks guys.

K20 *** will be a popular plate as K20 is the engine number, so people buy K20 CYA, K20 BYE or K20 then name initials etc.

I really like the Civic Type R, :) i used to work at a car auctions before i went to college a while back. When i had my little Fiat Panda 750L!!
So got to drive a few Type R's which was fantastic! and the Honda S2000 which i really love as well!!
And i got to admit although it looks a odd place for the gear change to be, like you say you soon get used to it!
Can't believe how much your insurance is, im only paying slightly less on my N reg Punto Sporting 1.6 8v (Insurance group 8) :( not fair! lol
Think your car looks fantastic by the way! :D the silver really suits it.
Dare i ask what there like economy wise? as you use yours for commuting etc..

hi DonnaC (y)

I see you on every car forum I join, but I suppose you have owned every car there is lol

love the Civics, only let down is the torque, having driven several if you are caught between gears a mondeo will give you a run. On a race track and red lined they are the ultimate. :)
