Renaultsport Clio

Introduction

Yep as the sun was sunshinng thought i'd give her a quick wash..

So far just got a K-tec de-cat stealth system with a ITG panel filter, and matched Inlets oh yeah and obviously the wheels (centre caps and hole filling things are drying)

Also got some Eibach Sportlines on their way and an RStuner (rempapper) waiting to be used

Needs some new brakes so will probably go for the Brembo HC and DS2500 with stainless hoses and a fluid change ready for Castle combe next month.

Next visual mods are the bullets and diamonds to match the wheels (possibly mirrors as well)

Oh this is the RR result from before the Inlets she will go back on RR after remap and a trackday next month.

Couldn't resist when, they first met and shared some electricity

Cheers
Full buying guide in Aprils edition of Performance Car mag, one with the Focus RS on front cover. Has input from David Kirk K-tec and Andrew Hughes at Yozza Sport.

Again it reiterates how reliable these cars are, in fact even Renault insiders say that the phase two cars were over engineered. Few items mentioned are engine mounts can go on cars that get some stick/track days, exhausts that rust out and its cheaper to replace with a s/s system, front suspension top mounts and bushes can start to go at 50K but otherwise nothing major, but cambelt must be changed at 72K/5 years along with the spark plugs, coolant and few other items which Renault will happily charge you £1500 for, good bargaining tool if not done, or due in next 6 months or so.

Oh and ABS adds 15kgs of weight to the car!

And the original OZ wheels from phase one and Spedline's as per Trophy are the lightest and supposedly most prized OE wheels. Team Dynamics being a worthy value after market option, but be careful on off-set.

Im liking the 172, wheels look smart. What size are they? Seems to be a bigger gap compared to standard.

Didn't know you had a 182 bang some pics up ;)

Yeah does look pretty high in the pics think it was only a few hours after having it jacked up.. although considering coilovers in the next few weeks now

Spotted that one on PH the other day dude, looks very tidy :) Judging by the last pic it looks to be a CS member's car too so likely to be enthusiast owned.

Just trying to ready myself to take the plunge

Yeah lady owner on Cliosport iirc (y)

Slippery slope... lol. Think yours would look smart dropped a few mm (not too much though!).

Mines totally standard, I like keeping things original now. Havent got many photos of the Clio really, more interested in bikes now.

Quick little update

Fitted some Brembo High Crabon Discs and Ferrodo DS2500 pads awesome stopping power once warmed up but nice and squeeky!

Also got some braided lines to go on and a quick service to do..

Got some track time this month as well so got some 15's to whack on to abuse.. So with the help of someone to bid on them at a funny time picked up some Fox racing Evo3's and made them my own

Crap pics from my phone

and a cheeky shot of the car that I really want to take on the track

I think the freelander would be great :D

I am going on a Palmer Sport day in july where I get to drive all three models that you have in the shot I think. A full track day in Clio sports, Porsche 911's, Jaguar F1's, Caterhams and many more. Never done a track run before. Good timing as I am really close to going for a Clio 197 but know very little about them, just that it's got to be better than my Megane.

The orange is going to look ace. Think you need more orange detailing though, maybe orange seat belts and steering wheel cover :D:yum:

Wheels are going to look great for track days, wonder what kind person went out of there way to arrive in work a little earlier than need be, to put on PC and log in with only 1min 45secs until auction ending, to get those wheel at such a good price! :D

Jamie's hero :D

your car is welll nice mate
is there a web sit for where you go would love to go there look well nice

could u pm me a link plzz thanks

Yeah it is Combe nice and quick which helps make bigger engine cars look better ;) :D

Cheers Si pretty crap finish up close but too covered in brake dust to worry

Thinking about getting them powdercoated in Focus ST orange.. or brighter :yum:

Thinking of leaving them on tbh  (just had the others re-furbed  )

Its a fun track, even when undertaken in a slightly rough running Bravo HGT lol

Should look good in electric orange. I wasn't sure about them in the first pic but once on the car they seemed to look right (y)

Hopefully joining the French fold soon, been offered a cheap S1 106 Rallye as a bit of a weekend toy :D

No pics yet mate, it's a cherry red S1 in reasonable condition (could do with a bit of a tidy).

Whiley bought it with a 16v in it and has dropped it into his bianca white S1 so I'm getting the red one with his old 8v in it (although I've already started looking at GTi engines lol).

Well the Clio spent from 9am till 5pm on the track on friday..

Were a couple of forum members there to experince what was some pretty impressive driving and some very fast and tidy laps..

and that was just me

But in all seriousness thanks to my pit crew for night before suspension swap and all the help on the day including F1 style wheel change and burning hands on wheels

The car performed faultless with the brakes being the most impressive thing as the fully stripped race spec Prelude will testify

Anyway a couple of pics here loads more to come on the weekend..

And my favourite
