Alfa fleet

Introduction

Not been on TFF for a while but that's not because I've fallen out of love with the Marque.

These are our two "posh" Fiats:D

The 159 is a 2.2 Ti and it replaced my much loved 2004 156 2.0 JTS Veloce in Red:cry: It got totalled in Solihull by an 80 year old fella in a Pug 106:mad:

Is surprisingly agile for such a big car and rides & handles really nicely. It's fully specd with awsome seats & the engine keeps on getting better with miles (just turned 10k now) but it's needs the Autodelta finishing touch map.

The GT is a 3.2 V6 and belongs to my wife. It's fantastic but is to hardcore for me to use day to day as I have a well Knackered back and the ride is rock solid. It's had a Q2 diff fitted as well as some ceramic compound Performance Friction pads.

If you see us around the Midlands wave to say "hi".

Cheers,
Hi Jug. Nice to see you on here as well as AO(y)

Cheers for the comments. I always loved my Fiats and wouldn't have gone Alfa if it hadn't have been for the totally unreliable aircon on my lovely 3 door Stilo 1.8 Dynamic. That 1800 engine was a cracker:cool:

V6 alfa romeo, the stuff that wet dreams are made of :D

Nah not really, maybe if it was a 156 V6 but IIRC the GT V6 is a bloody Vauxhual GM engine and as a result lacks the soul, character and the pleasure you get from the Alfa version :yum::devil: :D.

Oh and the fact the Alfa one is a piece of art worthy of any gallery with chrome intake plenums:-

Nice cars you got their must cost a pretty penny both in depreciation and Fuel! :D

The GT has the Arese V6 "propper Alfa" engine, just like the one in the picture.

The new Holden based V6 260BHP engine is in the new platform cars (159, Brera & new Spider). The block is holden but the guts & head are Alfa. Same applies to the 2.2 4 Pot (185bhp) unit in my Ti.

The new engines are really good:) They use no oil & have cam chains instead of belts. Granted, they do not look as nice as the old Busso:eek:

i havent had the opportunity to experience one for myself yet, but i'm hopeful because my astra's 2.2ecotec has loads of midrange torque and pulls really well. i believe its the same engine the alfa's 2.2 is based on, the L61 GM (or z22se to vx people, as used in the vx220) but i'm sure the alfa version will be much better.
