MK2 Polo Saloon

Introduction

Got myself a little run around. An Ebay special which I got for a nice price of £350. Tis about the right going rate for an alrite MK2 but this has a low milage (82k) and is generally very tidy! Plus its the rarer saloon version :)

Interior is mint. Very tidy indeed. Exterior is nice and shiny but as with an 18 year old car its got some dints and a few scabby bits here and there but is generally in very nice condition! No structural rust. Just cosmetic bits and bobs.

Mechanically is spot on. Cant fault it atall. Drives nice and smooth, the ride is perfect and its sooooo quiet. Can hardly hear the engine running, even under load (y) its a 1043cc 8v engine. Not sure on the power output but its not terribly slow. Cruised all the way home at 80mph no problem (y)

Its just a car to last with MOT and Tax until summer time when I will have an income again (starting my new job in a few weeks) and can get the car I really want to own. Otherwise its a good car! And a bargain too!
woah dont besorry. I know its an ugly car heh :p The coupe/hatch is a much nicer looking thing but I bought it because of the service history, length of tax and mot and the price. Not for looks. its souly a run around and thats it. All i plan to spend out on it is keeping it in the condition its in. Im not modding it :)

Some new piccies from today for anyone who's interested :)

I gave the faded wing a proper MOP polish and its come up gorgeous. very very slightly different colour to the rest of the car but probably only noticable to me :) Atleast its nice and shiny and all one colour now (y)

Now I know its a run around but ive already started thinking what I can do to mod it lol.

I took the front bumper off today to see if there was any damage to the front lower panel, which there is slightly but its only been pushed in. Unfortunatly, it wont push back out and the front lower panels are very cheap anyway so I plan to replace it.

Whilst the bumper was off I couldnt help but notice how awsome it looked without the bumper :D very old skool euro stylee and with a little bit of smoothing it could look even better!

A quick photoshop later -

Maybe not round indicators but either way, i think it looks very very cool and will cost literally £10 to do with the current front panel. A new front panel is around £30 and they ide have to spray it so its something for the summer I think, but using the current panel would looks fine for now :D Only thing is, I cant smooth it without spraying it and it wouldnt be worth spraying if im getting a new panel. So i dont think ill do it just yet, but I recon Ill do it anyway :p

Would need to get a new no plate and surround first to mount on. Thinking pressed metal ones. Will similar bumper removal to the rear too. Not quite sure the rear will look as cool though as it hasnt got a lower apron. Will see. (y)
