The Cinq's replacement (MR2)

Introduction

Hi all,
Put a deposit down on the cinq's replacement earlier...

DepositDay2.JPG

- Rev 4 MR2 N/A (decided I couldn't afford to run a turbo doing 50+ miles a day commuting to work).
- Even in N/A guise its 174bhp (being the later 3S-GE engine); 0-60 is 7 seconds but returns a respectable 38mpg considering its a 2ltr 16v twin cam :D
- lowish mileage
- Goodwood green (IE black until the sun really hits in then theres a rich green almost TVResq, and a kind of blue tint in there in some light)
- Perfect center console for my car PC
- Mid engine, rear wheel drive.
- only cloth interior at the moment, but can get decent leather ones cheap enough in the future.
- completely standard all round and well looked after.

didnt pay a bad price considering its very good condition (though its filthy dirty in the pics due to building works up the road from the place i got it). Full service history with a lot of the expensive work already being done, drives an absolute dream! Very different world from the cinq!

Got a few plans already for her:
- Lowering about 30mm
- American revision rear lights (red all round removing the amber parts)
- new stainless exhaust
- leather interior
- fit carPC
- general clean up
- maybe some subtle sideskirts & a turbo engine cover + fans.

Pick her up next Saturday, cant wait!

Luke

Nice one Luke (y)

It looks like a nice tidy example. I look forward to seeing it mate :D

I've had a soft spot for the MR2 since I was a young lad dreaming about being old enough to drive

Re: The Cinq's replacement

ah good choice, you won't be dissapointed thats for sure!!!

spend £100-150 and get it proffessionally polished/wagged up. and it'll be gleaming like new without a single swirl mark for years to come ;) seriously worth the money! got a mates car done that just could NOT be sold it was that bad, spent £80 on a hard cut, then we buttered it up and sealed it ourselves, not only sold it for what he was asking but the very next person that saw it too!

Re: The Cinq's replacement

Beware of wet roundabouts!

Seriously, I love it, I like them a lot. Do you mind me asking me how much you paid? Not to worry if so, I've looked at a lot in the past, but cant give up my back seats just yet!

Happy driving!

paid just over 3 grand for it, which considering the spec and condition etc wasnt bad. Original price was 3.5k with no tax but knocked him down a fair bit and got 6 months included in the price. :slayer:

Picking her up Saturday, so will be doing its first service straight away, and give it a good clean. The swirls on there look worse there than real life as the car is very dirty from building works and the constant bad weather around here, but ive got a proper buffer and i'm no stranger to polish/wax and elbow grease!

The insurance hike was a bit of a shock, but not totally unexpected. Shalln't be renewing at flux again when Quinn are a 1/3 cheaper! But never mind. Still have a little left in the kitty for some small cosmetics as originally listed :)

Dave, the MR-S is the hairdressers car :p I regard this as the more "manly" version :D

Will get some good proper pics up when i get her all cleaned up. Those were rushed and taken from my N95 (y)

whooop whooop nice one, wish i had mine longer than i did, enjoyed the time i had with mine (revision 2) wanted the Rev 3  have fun and ye be careful of wet roundabouts or just the wet in general but its fun to play in the wet at times too, and there easy to correct if they step out (y)

a proper car (y)

my step-bro has a turbo, its shockingly quick, the back end goes all over the place. you dont even notice the dated bland interior because you're too busy grinning like a fool and wetting your pants :slayer:

tbh you dont need the turbo, the n/a is still great full, its such a capable chassis you cant help but drive it properly
