Hi all
I am new to this forum thingy but thought i would see if i could get some advice.I originally posted this on the Newbie boards but was advised to post here for a better response.

I have just had my cambelt changed on my 2000 Marea 1.6 16v auto. The garage said they had also changed the Pulley wheel (Whatever that is)?.Whilst driving, once the Revs get to between 2000 & 2.500 rpm there is a tinny rattling noise.Above 2.500 it stops. This wasnt there before, only since the belt was replaced.Any ideas as to what could be causing it?.If so what parts will need replaced.?
Thanks in advance.

Hi KevB,

I've recently changed the belt on my 20v and the pulley wheel the garage referred to could be either be the tensioner pulley ( on the 20v it sits roughly under the inlet cam pulley ) or the " roller bearing " type pulley which has a chrome edge.

Everything runs fine on my engine, however I have noticed that the tensioner pulley which has a silver adjustment lever ??? has a tendency to vibrate slightly. I have'nt noticed any noise coming from it but that could be the rattling you mentioned.
