Sometimes the central locking simply unlocks again. I use the key not the pinger. Mostly this is linked to the rear boot warning light being on - the car thinks the boot is open even 'though it's firmly shut.
The boot key-hole is blocked.
Can I simply remove the central locking fuse? (leaving the boot unlocked, but locking the others one at a time)
Is there a better way?
(Previously I had the "boot handle stuck up" problem, but cleaning and lubing cured that, but not this).

sounds like one of the c/locking linkages or locks are meeting resistence when trying to lock so the system just unlocks, have a look at the rear lock as you are getting the warning light from there, might be worth removing the lock but keeping the wires on it to see how it functions when activating the c/locking

Yeah, central locking does that quite often. If you can't repair the switch then just dis it. You'll have to check if it needs the wires shorted out or just taping up.

My marea used to unlock itself overnight, never did find the fault?

I seem to have got most of the problems listed on this site. One of which is Central locking not working. I traced this to the rear boot handle. Basically when pressed it sticks in mid position due to the rubber and the only way to free it is get a key, screwdriver etc and push it back down.
