I have just been offered a 1999 T Reg 20v Weekend for £800

Its Ok in general, 90k with paperwork for cam at 62k

Questions

Red Key, it has 2 keys 1 is Blue with a Red Square Insert on the Top Edge of it works the doors and igntion, (Is this the Red Key), The order key is just a standard blue all over key and does the boot only

The Glass on one of the front lights is cracked, I understand they are about 90quid to replace, not sure if this is an MOt fail? (Its got an MOt till Dec06)

Apart from that all seems Ok,

Its just the red key thing thats bugging me a bit, I don't really want to risk living with just one working key for the car

It's not a massive issue if you don't have the red key. You can get them cloned at locksmiths.

Cambelt is ok for now. Maybe 18k left. Not sure if the glass is an MOT fail, but you can always get them from ebay or a breakers.

If the handling is at all wobbly, it will need new lower arms. They're not expencive but they can be a pain to change. Also check the rear wiper, and the operation of all the tailgate functions.

I thought the Red Key was an issue!!. So I can just get my standard Blue Key cloned that should not be too expensive then

The Rear Tailgate door handle was not working but it has been stripped down and given a good WD40ing and now is working fine again.

Apart from that all seesm to be Ok, my main issue was worrying the key thingie was going to set me back magabucks!

Providing your blue is in good enough condition to be copied (mechanically) you shouldn't need the red key. You might be able to get a good physical copy from the 'spare' key, I guess it's probably not been used much.

Thanks for the advice, I managed to get a copy of my blue key for £25 from the local keycutters.

I also managed to purchase a pair of new headlights (Used but good condition), for £30 the pair Including postage (Seemed like a good deal) as the O/S one has a broken lens,.

Now all seems well, so far very pleased.

I do like the weekend version the most. And they seem to be in the best colours too! Why Why Why didn't they bring the turbo version here????

I love the light blue colour on the Weekend.. That or the solid red colour as from Bulldog's old sig.
