hi,back to fiats after a terrifying meeting with an omega 2.5 turbo diesel, magnificent bmw engine, terrible build quality, anyway back to the fiat 100 diesel,a nice car, just needs tidying, can anyone tell me how to remove the roof bars for painting, also fuel gauge has a mind of its own,any ideas.ta.

Hey! Not a million miles from here!

The roofbars attach it looks like from inside. Suprised they need painting.. The anthracite finish seems very hard wearing.

Might need a bit more detail on the activities of the fuel gauge.

P.S. what colour is your Marea, might have seen it about.

hi,its metallic maroon.one bar has corroded a bit, looks bad, might just mask them both, fuel gauge needle will change position if i tap the glass.

To remove the roof bars first remove the tailights, this will expose the nuts that secure the rear mounts, you then need to remove the headlining inside the car which will expose the nuts for the front mounting. Taking out the roof lining is a real pain in the arse, I would just do the work with the roof bars in place.
