I'm not a great fan of the space saver spaere that came with my weekend, and i am off to the breakers this aft took for a suitable replacment spare.

does anyone know what would be a suitable size? does it need to be the same size as the current wheels/tyres? should it be an alloy or will a steelie do?

i have a 155 hlx weekend, the size of current wheels is

rim - 6j x 15"

tyre - 195/60 R15 88v

cheers,
rob.

I just got shot of the crap space saver and got a spare alloy to match my Fiat 152 alloys and got the same tyres i already have on 195/55/15

I've got a 175/65R14 in the back. I can get away with the 14" wheel as its not a 2.4JTD or 2.0 20v

For a 2.4 or 2.0 20v you will need a 15". If its a steel wheel you'll probably need a spacer. My tipo has a spacer on its space saver. Does the Marea 2.0 20v?

i tried replacing my space saver with a 14" steelie, and found the boot carpet wont lie flush with anything wider than the space saver. here's hoping i never need to use the damn thing, it looks dangerous to me.

Space savers are like "limp home tyres".

Interesting Point : if u have a spare with a illegal tyre on it u can be prosecuted. However if you dont carry a spare, your not breaking the law!
