hi everyone, hope someone can help me with this fault on my 1999 1.8 elx marea,for some reason my electric windows and central locking have just stopped working, i have checked the fuse's near steering wheel and under bonnet but all fuse's are fine. i,ve heard i can reset my central locking by disconnecting the battery once everthing is locked is this right and how long do i keep it dis-connected for.
any help in this matter would be grateful or if i have to take it to a dealer so be it. again and help in thid matter is appricated.

by not working do you mean you press the button for alarm/locking and the car arms its self but the locks dont move?

i actually found mine not working because i had different locks in different states but for some reason its stopped working again, i think its due to a bad sensor as the alarm is arming with the long beep then a little beep after to tell me a sensor isnt working, will check them.

if disconnecting the battery about 10 minutes will do it but its not going to hurt to leave it for longer.

thanks ryan reference our keys as the wife lost the press button one we can only operate the central locking by opening the dvrs or passenger door so will try diconnecting at weekend when got car back from wife will this also sort out the electric windows

just to add i did go check mine, the boot wasnt locked so it messed it all up, all working fine now, and as for the windows i would highly suspect its the relay....
