Hello all,

I've previously posted about a clunking noise in the rear end, and got great replies for that, thank you again.... (It stopped clunking all by itself  , strangely enough ).

My car is a Marea weekend 1.8 ELX, '97 and just shy of 100K.

But now I've got the most annoying clunks from the front end (out with the old, in with the new :bang: )...

It clunks over every stupid little bump I drive over, both front right and left wheels... I checked the anti-roll bar drop links, and they are not broken in 2 pieces or something, but I couldn't really check the rubbers for freeplay. (only got the fiat-supplied-flat-tire-jack).

I did read the previous posts about front ends, but I also wanted to know how I should check the freeplay, how far should I jack up the car / where to pry with my pry bar etc..

So before I order 2 droplinks from the internet (found them at 12.00 pound each! (y) ) Should I check some other things / rubbers?

Thank you all !! :D

Could be the lower arms, the rubbers cannot be bought on their own. :(

Rubbers CAN be bought on their own. At least here in Sweden.:D
BUT... The the price for 2 rubbers is almost 80% of a complete arm. (n)

Aftermarket arms are available as complete units - not too much of a struggle to fit (about 30 minutes work with practice). All you need to do is jack it up, whip the wheel off and just undo the bolts. Needs a little leverage to pull the old arm out and even more leverage to get the new one in due to a clash with the anti-rollbar.
