I saw a thread were is on discussion the horse-power of the Marea Turbo produced in Brazil.

As a own of Marea Weekend Turbo, I can say: this car has, originally, 182 hp.

This reducion (220 hp to 182 hp) is due the project of the car (it´s designed for familiys here in Brazil, and the Fiat Brazil was not interested in serious modifications on it´s project, like brakes, suspension,...), not because the fuel sold in Brazil (by the way, the alcohol is better to do an improvement on the engine of the Marea Turbo).

My car has some modifications, and it´s have about 240 hp´s.

I have made exhaust and admission improvements, and remap.

I hope I can solve some doubts...

My car already has air filter.

By the way, here it´s my car:

A brand new Marea Turbo goes for around 20-21k pounds, although you could find a used one for much less... For example a 2004 turbo weekend goes at about 16k pounds...

I think you want to be exporting to Brazil, not importing!

Kerching!

:D
Exactly! Despite the fact that this particular model has ABS, EBD, Electrochromic Rear View mirrors, dual airbags and the works, prices in Brazil for new cars are soaring :(
For instance, do you know how much one has to pay for a new Corolla SE-G around here? 21k pounds!
But, as in England, depreciation hits Mareas hard, so we less fortunate ones can buy good cars for much less than those prices :D

hmmm...could you just bolt the turbo on a 2.0 20v here?

As far as I know (but you should probably confim it with Zovin if there are not any more differences) the engines are the same but the 2.0 20v turbo uses Graphited pistons (I'm pretty sure they are coated with the stuff rather than being made out of graphite, kinda like forjed)...
Aside from that, I bet you could easily turn your 2.0 into a factory turbo (you would need to buy the intercooler as well, of course), although I think you won't want to import the original turbine, since 'everyone' around here tends to upgrade the turbine to a bigger one when they want more power. So, since you'll be buying one, I think you would rather want to buy the bigger one instead.
If only you could read portuguese (can you?), I could point you to quite a few topics on the Brazilian Marea Club (www.clubedomarea.com.br) that are about this specific conversion...
Anyways, if you choose to do it, I am sure me and Zovin can try and translate some of the more important information about it for you :D

P.S. By the way, at least here, the break callipers and disks on the 2.0 20v and the 2.0 20v turbo are different (the turbo's are bigger)... although the 2.4 and the turbo callipers are the same, so maybe you could upgrade yours to the 2.4's and have more breaking power on your soon to be 2.0 turbo ;)

Ryan, I use standard shock absorbers and springs made by AG Kit (www.agkit.com.ar).

As I know, you have the Eibach springs for Marea Weekend. Some guys here in Brazil has Eibach springs on his Marea´s Weekend, and they say that is much better than AG Kit springs. I can't say, for sure, what is better, but I'm very happy with the suspension of my car.

As Fernando sads, Marea Weekend Turbo goes for around 20k pounds. In this price you'll have to include all taxes that is charged by the government of your country.

It depends of how much money you are disposed to spend!

If I was you, I would try to improve 2.0 20v with the performance parts that are sold around you.

Hey zovin, good see u here!
I´m from CDM too :)

Ur car looks great!!!

hay, i just looked at the Eibach springs but can only get them for upto the 1.8, now its highly likley they will physically fit but whats the engine weight difference? dont want the front to sink in to the floor

also it's only the springs i can get here, not the shocks :(

Cheers,
Ryan Edge

There are differences between eibach's springs for the 1.8 and the 2.0s.
The model numbers differ... the 1.8's are E3024-140, the front ones come stamped with: EW 3023001 VA, while the back ones: EW 3008002 HA; the 2.0's are E3022-140, the front ones being stamped with: EW 3021001 VA, although the rear axel ones have the same numbers as the 1.8's....
As for shock absorbers, eibach's springs are designed so you can keep using your factory default's, although, of course, they have to be in good working conditions...
Sadly, according to eibach's site, the 2.0s are not in production anymore, but I'm willing to bet you can get them online...
