So today I changed the engine oil of my Marea, and realised that the oil cap was missing. It must have been missing for a few weeks - I must have forgotten to put it back on last time I was working on the car, and wanted to change the oil back then but didn't.
I don't think there's anything I can do now, but even so it is something I should worry about?
I've ordered a new cap and it should arrive in a couple of days.
Thanks

I made the mistake of leaving the cap off my Brava after an oil check a few years ago (mainly caused by the bonnet stay not working at the time making the job harrder). I then drove a hundred miles down the motorway before noticing a smell, when I checked at a service station I found a right mess all over the bonnet and a load of oil missing. I jammed the filler with tissue paper and refilled at my destination, and then bought a new yellow cap from Fiat.

A while later I took off the plastic engine cover to do the plugs, and found the original cap nestling underneath...
