From what I could find online the front discs of the Marea can be of two dimensions: with a 257mm or a 284mm diameter (this latter only for the 2.0L 20v version), with the 284 version possibly vented. Two questions:

- Can I fit the 284 (vented?) discs on my Marea 1.6 SX, or would they not fit (too big, too fat)?

- And if it is possible, is it worth it?

Just buy some good aftermarket discs with good pads:

No.
You have to stick to what's on the car now.
If you replace non vented with vented discs, you need different calipers as well.
Fit some grooved Mtec discs with DS Performance pads, and put Hel braided brakelines together with quality brakefluid, and you'll be OK.
