Hello folks, I want to upgrade the current poor headlights of my Marea SX with the projector version mounted on the ELX and HLX models.

I've just ordered the new headlights, and in the meantime a noob question: is it easy to remove and refit the headlights? The only page I could find online about this was saying that you need to remove the front bumper - is this correct? Is there anything else I need to be aware of?

Cheers

No need to remove the bumper. Just two bolts on the top, then you just hit your fist on the blinker part on the outer glass towards the other light and it should pop off. There is a balljoint to pop out, you can see it in the new one. The wiring connectors are just held by the metal clips and come off by pushing the metal part in first.

One issue is that on the projectors the parkinglight/sidelight has its own connector, so you need to splice two wires from the main connector for it.

I guess they use the same headlamps as bravo/brava on the SX marea?

aside from what Neveth said, once they are fitted, you MUST have them properly adjusted, projector headlamps concentrate the light beam more than reflector dishes, are painful to other road users if they are orientated too high.

Does the SX have an electric beam height adjuster to the left of the steering wheel like the other trims?

Depending on the country of origin the car would already have the wiring fitted as opposed to the bravo/a which didn't have the wiring for the sidelights
So yes it's just unbolt the old ones, remove put some t10 bulbs in the sidelight holders and bolts the new units in :D

You guys... always so helpful! Thank you so much everybody. I'll be doing the job in a couple of weeks as am moving home and crazy busy atm...
I'll post a couple of photos once I do it - it may help somebody else. i will also report back if I need to splice the main connector.
