Rear Brake adjusters

Hi All,
Please can anyone tell me where to get 'Rear Brake Automatic Adjusters' for my 2002 Fiat Marea Weekend JTD 110 with the drum brakes ?
Mine are not working.....and I would like to mail order some 'after market' ones to keep the cost down ....I have checked Ebay but no joy...... OR if all else fails the part number for Fiat...Gulp !! on the price

Re: Rear Brake adjusters

the pads often come with the adjusters attached. well the ones from Norauto for my opel corsa did. worth having a look, should be no more than 100 euros for a cheap set.

Re: Rear Brake adjusters

Open them up, clean them and put them back together and take note to not install them upside down or wrong way as it will block the spring from working.

Note: Do NOT put any grease or oil in the adusters after cleaning them, the must be dry as brakedust will otherwise stick to them and jam them.

They are really simple systems, you can test them by compressing and releasing them, the spring should jump and push the gear every cycle and unwind the adjuster.
In the car it does so until the travel is so small the spring does not jump, then the brakeshoes are close to the drum and brakes are adjusted.

Installed

Adjuster

It might not be identical, but operation is similar

Hi,
been re-reading your fuel pressure thread,
great to see your Marea is still running..

could you please confirm your engine warning light is an "injector symbol", as opposed to a symbolic" MOTOR "

thanks,
Charlie

Re: Rear Brake adjusters

Hi Charlie,
Sorry to have missed your earlier questions.....
Yes the Warning light is the red injector symbol as opposed to the classic amber engine symbol..... I am glad to say that the symbol has gone. I had to replace the fuel pressure regulator but so far so good. Fingers crossed for the car. It just passed its French MOT so it is road legal for 2 more years....unless it breaks anything else!

Re: Rear Brake adjusters

Hi Charlie,
The OBD port is "Under" the dashboard on a RHD car by your "right" shin as you sit in the car.....I have just taken these 4 photos as its starts to rain....I lead you in from outside the car and its pointed to by a screwdriver..sorry its a bit blurred but you should get the idea.

Re: Rear Brake adjusters

just bumping this. I need a pair of adjusters for mine. No, I can't clean and refit as they aren't complete. I found pieces of the spring steel inside the drum when I took it off.

Is there a better solution by means of an upgrade? If not, where can I get some aftermarket ones.

I know mine were unusual..as I had the whole lot rust solid after driving through floods..so needed replacing.

Marea rears are a LARGE size.. but maybe the multipla is similar..

Either..
Use ePER for the part number
.then goigle them

Or look on europarts.. you might be lucky
